Confirmed Trade: [NJD/EDM] Taylor Hall for Adam Larsson

Okay, like most people here I don't understand this. What is it we don't know about Larsson that could have possibly possessed Chiarelli to make this deal one for one? I think any time a top 6 forward of Hall's caliber gets traded for a defenseman like Larsson who is supposedly more defensively solid than he is offensively so it immediately looks bad if its one for one. But how good is Larsson really? I feel like the Oilers could have gotten a lot more but there's gotta be a reason they did this one for one.

Every team in the league gotta be wondering why EDM did not contact them since they coulda beat that trade. Absolute steal. Taylor is a stud, all-star. Larsson is good but nowhere near this level.
 
thats a lot to give up for edmonton...they are only team in nhl that can afford a trade like this because dam they still got a ton of talented forwards...and have money to spend on forwards...and their are no Dmen available this summer, their are never dmen available

u need a great defensive core to win, and giving up hall is a lot, but starting your D with a guy like larsson is a great start
 
I remember when Oilers fans said Hall would cost Letang ++. He didn't even retrieve a player as good as Letang alone!
 
I am in shock. Is it 100% a 1 for 1? If so, I do not believe I have ever been more surprised by a trade.
 
Only thing that REALLY bothers me about this is Shero getting ALL DEEZ WINGERZ while he let Sid and Geno rot for yrs in Pitt playing with garbage.

Lucic is older, not as good of a scorer and there are some signs the wheels are on their way to coming off.

If a culture change is what they're looking for, I can understand moving Hall, but not for Larsson and not to sign Lucic, who's something of a big baby.

I think the Devils fans that are upset are more upset because we love Larsson. Guy was a warrior for us for the last few years even when things weren't going well for him.. and then when we got rid of Deboer, he ****ing exploded.

Gonna miss him and that's why I feel conflicted here. We win this trade on the ice for sure but Adam was a treat to follow the past few years. Hope he does real damn well and continues growing.
 
Id be worried if I was an Edmonton fan, I thought the new group was supposed to have some smarts. This is laughably bad for the oilers, well done NJ.
