Larsson, in my view is #3 d-man at best right now with potential to be really good #2. Then I look around the league and ask my self, how many true number 2 d-mans are there?" not many.

Hall is 1st line left winger and they paid the price to get a first pairing guy. (or close to it) They did what they had to do and pulled the trigger.

I'm not sure if this makes them significantly better, but they can't get any worse.

I don't believe NJ's defense is wrecked. Larsson was the 2nd or 3rd best defenseman in their corps. It's not like they traded Andy Greene.

Larsson outplayed Greene last season. He definitely looked like a #1.
