Watched a lot of his games in the AHL, he does have skill but I was always left with a 'meh' impression every time. I think it's more about the unknown rather than value, because as far as value goes I'm not surprised this is what he fetched, maybe at best a 3rd round pick.

Do i think he plays a few games in his career? Yes.
Do i wish we saw him for a few games while he was our property? yes
Am i disappointed? No.

Kid just never popped. Lot of kids potentially hitting GRG next year. Makes sense to trade and try again.

Between the players already signed and the RFA'S seems like there are better options than Lombardi. Getting another draft pick allows them to remove money from the roster while adding another prospect for the future.

He will be solid third line wing . Is he worth fourth round , I think he is much better than that.

Detroit's bottom 6 was completely garbage in the second half of the season barely scoring at all. They should have given Lombardi a chance.
