Confirmed Trade: [NJD/DET] Amadeus Lombardi for 2026 4th round pick

Lombardi.had his opportunity this past preseason and just couldn't cut it. He's sadly not an NHL quality player, and I have watched him extremely closely with Grand Rapids for 2 seasons now

Maybe he finds something and breaks through in NJ. He's a great personality. All the best Ammo thanks for dazzling the GR fans
Ah yes, nothing tells you more about a player's readiness than some preseason games where half the players are warming up for the season half trying and the other half are teenagers in a new system.

I've watched 95% of his games in the AHL these past two years. You tell ME that he's NHL ready. He sure as hell didn't show me that he was

Maybe hence why they sent him back down to the AHL in preseason, and he proceeds to put up only two more points than last season on a way more offensively potent Griffins team than the 2024-25 one, and then completely disappeared in the playoffs and was nowhere to be found

Wow, what a stud prospect

Small, really good skater, weak, and injury prone the past two seasons. The fact he couldn't get a game in Detroit despite our bottom 6 being what it is really says something about something. Very good AHL player, hopefully his injury woes are behind him.

FWIW, I had him as Detroits #9 prospect and was hoping he'd get a shot at some point but it obviously never happened.

Good luck to him in New Jersey.

Decent numbers in AHL on one of the league's better teams but less than 50 games played last two seasons.

What do Devils know about him?

Huh..?

WTF are we doing here ..

A 4th..why? Why not just play ammo? I honestly have no idea what Yzerman is doing?

Is he senile?

My guess is because he's not going to hack it in the NHL with any team and Yzerman flipped him for an asset to a hopeful GM.

He's a career AHL player.
Every player is a career ahl player if you never give them a chance to play for your team in the NHL.

We picked him in the 4th, he was a near ppg AHLer the past 2 years that never was given a game, then we traded him for a 4th. Maybe the kid we pick will get a chance in to play a single game 5 years.

It's not like he did the same shit with Cossa.

Emmitt Finnie was a 7th round draft pick in 2023, played all of 16 games in Grand Rapids, and was in Detroit for 82 games this past season. When guys get stuck in Grand Rapids, it usually says something about something.

I was never high on Lombardi. He seems like a fun undersized player with skill. Don't be surprised if he's on waivers within the year.

It wouldn't surprise me either, I'm not mad that we lost him, I'm more just venting about this because we never gave Cossa a chance while Talbot was terrible either

In fairness, doing well in preseason is meaningless but doing poorly as a guy trying to make the roster is rarely a sign of great things to come.
