Keeper league draft has finished. Good luck to everyone.

FYI - The waiver order has been carried forward from last season.

Someone who might have a fantastic year and wasnt picked up was Barkov. I didn't pick him because I aready have 4 centers/mixed centers in totals but he had 19 points in his last 20 games on the first line when Jagr arrived. Think he will have a great year.

We currently have 7 teams in the one-year league, we need 8 if we wanna draft, I'd like to have 10. If anyone wants to join, or if any current manager wants to invite some, feel free!

I'm changing the draft to this coming Saturday, currently have it at 5:30 'cause I figured people will have plans Saturday night. Please let me know if that works, if we don't have a lot of people I'd like to try and find a time where as many people can make the draft as possible.

This is the Fantasy Hockey General, right? How would you guys rate my team? Head to Head Points scoring.

C: Malkin, Couture, Soderberg, Nelson, Couturier

LW: Parise, Huberdeau, Cammalleri, Killorn, Nieto

RW: Voracek, Nyquist, Callahan, Palmieri, Frolik

D: Keith, Doughty, Giordano, Faulk, Stralman, Zidlicky, Larsson

G: Luongo, Niemi, Elliot

Every year I like to pick up a few under the radar young guys I think might breakout. Last year I snagged Josi, RNH, Gallagher, and Kreider and all of them had very big seasons.

I'm thinking about dropping my sleeper Nieto for Burakovsky, Sekac, or Duclair. Thoughts?

Nieto does look like maybe the one weak link on that team, I'd probably pick up Burakovsky since I think he's the best chance to have a seriously huge season out of those 3. I like Sekac, but I think he's gonna be buried a bit on the Ducks' depth chart, and Duclair is obviously super skilled but I wouldn't trust anyone on Arizona to have a good fantasy season besides OEL.

For the hodge podge league, looks like over half of the teams have said they're ok for Monday, so I'm setting the draft for Monday the 12th, at 7:30PM EST. I'm plenty flexible with the time, but in the interest of getting a full season in, I don't wanna push the draft any farther into October. If anyone has any major objections, fire away.

I haven't read the thread, but I've read that Sergei Plotnikov could be a major sleeper because of the chemistry he's developed with Malkin.

yeah theres no way I can draft tonight, I have to go to bed just as it starts, working early tomorrow D:

ah damn, I'm sorry dude. When you said Tuesday at 8 was cool, I hoped Monday at 7:30 might work too. I'll make sure to set a league up nice and early next season so we're not struggling to fit everyone in after the season's already started.

Holy crap, Luke.

The fickle finger of head to head scheduling rocked me hard this just-finished week.

Luke's team destroyed me. 10-1. But had I faced any other team in the league that week, I'd have won by at least 3. I had the solidly secondbest fantasy week in the league. But my opponent had the far-and-away best that blew mine away in virtually every category. Scores had I been matched against:

1. PeterS: W 7-4
2. Concussion: W 9-3
3. Status: W 7-4
4. (I'm teamID 4)
5. Just Win: W 7-4
6. billington: W 8-4
7. Number1: W 6-3
8. StrayCat: W 9-2
9. Henrique: W 9-0
10. Wingman: W 8-4
11. Luka: L 1-10
12. Hyphenator: W 10-2

That really hurts. I'd have earned at least fifteen standings points against literally any other team in the league this week... but against God-Week Luka, I got 3.

How are the goalie brackets decided in the pool? Is it 3 out of 4 categories?

It's a head to head pool. There are 12 categories, each one awards a win, a tie, or a loss individually. 4 of them are goaltending categories. You won 3 of the 4 and I won one, so you got 6 of a possible 8 points from goaltending categories and I got 2. (you also won 7 skater categories and tied one, so you got 15 of a possible 16 points from skater categories, and I got 1).

I kind of lucked out early on. My forwards are hot right now. I even dropped Cammalleri (my only drop) because other players were on fire lol. You do have the best goalie in the league though. You will win a lot of the match ups with Price down the road. My season pretty much relies on Kuznetsov and Jagr having a great season. The other players I think will be consistent. Thanks for explaining the goalie guidelines. The forward statistics I understand.

I even dropped Cammalleri

Holy crap, I need to pay more attention to the waiver wire in this league.

Cammy's one point off the league lead in scoring.

The only thing that's different about goalie stats is that for GAA, lower is better. Every other stat we have (even PIM), a higher number is better.
