I have to admit that I do wish nintendo consoles would be a bit more powerful so they wouldn't be getting ports of old games when two sequels have already came. They don't have to be gorgeous, but I'd loved the next borderlands, for example, to be available on switch sane day as ps5.
I hear you. Rumor is Switch 2 will be around PS4 Pro power which is honestly really good since there's maybe 20 games on PS5 that look like they couldnt be on a PS4 in almost four years since it came out.

This plus with how good DLSS is now, you can upscale pretty nice with weaker hardware.

I am more interested in knowing what will happen to Switch games played on the successor console. If there will be some enhancing options or if many games that run poorly will stay in that state.

Basically, unless you're super into needing graphic fidelity overload, the Switch is the best console going, the selection in pretty much any genre is enormous with new games and the plethora of remakes/rereleases/whathaveyou

My Switch backlog is like 14 games deep at this point, they’ve been crushing it.

There’s nothing on other consoles I care about at all that isn’t also a PC game.

I am in a similar spot though not quite to that extent, the Switch covers about 75% of my current gen backlog, unfortunately my daughter is taking forever to play thru Mario Galaxy and forcing me to play something on PS5 or XB that I am less interested in right now

I keep dropping hints, like "Hey maybe you can play some Mario today?" "How's it going on Mario?" to no avail. Santa might need to bring someone her own Switch this Xmas, so I can liberate mine

Beat Echoes of Wisdom.

A lot of fun. I don't think I'd rate it as high as Link's Awakening, but it was an enjoyable romp, the world was great to explore and partially nostalgia recognize, the core echo gameplay worked and was enjoyable, and it rapidly became pretty easy to go into swordfighting mode for traditional combat.

Would recommend. If the next 2D was an EoW2, I'd be okay with that, and if they dropped it to be more traditional I'd also be okay with that.

Just hope Nintendo gets in the habit of making new 2D Zelda games more frequently again. I think there's enough of a demand to say that could be done without watering down the franchise. Maybe aim for a new 3D game every 5 or so years and a new 2D game every 3 or so years.

The very last pillar of the Wii U falls.

Well, except for the Zelda HD remasters I guess.

It's actually kind of hilarious how the failure of the Wii U ironically helped Nintendo in so many ways.

I've been playing UFO 50 lately and was going to recommend to a friend on Switch. I was really surprised to see it's not on there, or on any consoles.

I hope it does well enough to port it to consoles, seems like a natural fit for portable mode on the Switch.

Mario and Luigi: Brothership reviews are out and the scores are a bit worse than I expected. I'll likely still check it out but some are complaining about the amount of handholding which I'm sure will annoy me lol

That was a given for physical copies. Nintendo has a long history of backwards compatibility.

Nintendo just finally decided to extend it to the online part too.

Great to see this from Nintendo. Much more likely to pick something sup in these latter stages of the console's life cycle with this confirmation.

I was going to be buying the next gen either way, but having the games being compatible is a definite plus, won't have to keep the extra system connected to the tv or go to the basement tv where the rest of the old gen systems reside and play down there

I wonder if they do any upscaling of Switch games on the new console. Got to think the power of the new device should get more out of titles like ToTK.

Much more likely they'll have "enhanced" versions of popular games like the Zeldas and Mario Kart for a fee, much like Sony did with PS4 games when the PS5 came out
