Well, I imagine your dislike for Nemec stems primarly from him being in front of Casey in the pecking order.
I had both Casey and Lambert ahead of Nemec in my draft rankings. I just never believed he was that good.

He still has promise as a top 4 dman, but reports out of Utica aren't encouraging. If he's got a problem with playing in the minors he needs to be moved. On the other hand, Casey has been thriving with a positive attitude.

Young kid is a bit upset after getting his pay cut from 1.3 ish mill last year (due to about 500k in performance bonuses he earned) to now 90k.

Shocker.

He's been a top 4 D already.

Dude gets to play hockey for his job. Maybe if he wasn't absolute garbage in the NHL this year, he'd still be there.

He should worry less about his paycheck and more about helping his team win.

Even a fanboy like you can admit that an entitled attitude like that is a troubling development.

For the first half of the season, and then was terrible after.

"terrible second half"

In his final 30 games of the year he was still above 50% xGoals share.

Sure, certainly not his stellar 55% in his first 30 games, but you're fine with that. You take that.

There was a stark difference between his results under Ruff and Green.

Great under Ruff
Not good under Green

but anyway. Nemec has shown he can be a stud dman at the NHL level as a teenager. He gets back to that level, and you take that 100/100 times. If he surpasses that, you're looking at a stud.

I don't think Nemec is a great power play QB. But, with Luke Hughes on the team that is not something we need.

Casey is an electric PP weapon. In NJD however, that skill is somewhat obsolete. It would certainly be something other teams want however. And he doesn't move me as a guy who will be an EV stud or a PK stud.

Btw, try to hide your bias better when you do everything possible to explain why Casey being sent down wasn't his fault and why he actually was good in his NHL stint and everything is Nemec's fault.

40 games of decent play is nowhere near enough to solidify him as a stud, especially when it's accompanied by 30 games of terrible play.

And it's not getting better in the AHL. Hopefully his entitled attitude doesn't hold him back.

He's going to be an EV stud. Mobile, intelligent, defensively responsible, skilled with the puck. And most importantly, he's got the right attitude and work ethic to continue to improve.

He's gonna be a 1st pairing guy for a decade.

Casey wasn't even supposed to make the team. Him being sent down was not a reflection of poor play.

Quite literally pure copium lmao.

I'm sorry, but you don't even try to hide your bias.

Also, Nemec really only fell off in late march/april.

You say 30 games, which dates back to the beginning of march.

But in those first 10 games in march, he was still around a 53% share, winning his minutes

in fact, even from March up until April 7th, nemec was still at 51%.

So is it really 30 games of "terrible" if he was winning his minutes for the first 17 of them?

He absolutely did SUCK in the final 4 games of the season after NJD pulled the plug on Jack Hughes playing, for all intents and purposes declaring the season over.

Atrocious in those games. Something like 1.34 vs 5 xGoals in those last 4 games.

When we were trotting out this abomination of a lineup.

I count 6 AHLers in that forward lineup. Yes, that is 15 minutes of 5v5 time a night for Tomas Nosek you see.

So anyways, though 56 actually meaningful games, Nemec had a 54.6% xGoals share.

But yeah, I guess you did see more of Nemec sucking than I did because I wasn't tuning in all that intently after we pulled the plug on the year

I'm not going to nitpick with you when you cherry pick like this.

Hopefully he pulls out of the nosedive he's in, and gets an attitude adjustment in the process.

You made a claim about 30 games that was frankly bullshit.

Nemec had a 54.6% xGoals share in his first 56 games in the NHL.

He was atrocious in 4 games that meant literally nothing where we were trotting out half our lineup as AHLers and you want to use it to discredit his whole year

It's weak.

That's not true, but I'm not going to derail another thread going back and forth with you on this.

Goodnight.
