Player Discussion Nikita Zadorov

In the Carolina game I think in the second period the puck goes to Swayman who holds on to it standing up. Taylor Hall sort of gliding in doesn’t stop or peel off but goes right up to Swayman and looks like talking smack. They were teammates and Hall was part of that close-knit veteran group. Zadorov knowing something was up gave him a good push away, but after the face-off just decked him in center ice going after him to deliver it.

Great signing

Maybe Zadorov, was pissed at hall for not finishing the job, to Halls credit, he took that hit and got up and played his game, we use to have a player like that.......I also liked that after the hit there was not, we need to go after Zadorov for hitting our guy. Hate that shit, good clean hit.

I am enjoying the pro vs anti Zadorov groups

We all watch the same game but see him on it very differently

That’s certainly one way to spin it. I’m sure the same could be said for Anthony Duclair.

He is a #4\5 D man with the ability to intimidate the opposition. You can't deny there are teams that will value that, which explains 4 teams being willing to trade for him.
Boston didn't have to trade for him and his salary next year will be the equivalent
of about 4.75M this year. He he his warts for certain, but no one should be shitting on him.

He’s overpaid and overrated, with way too much term, and way too much trade protection. Hes better than Derek Forbort though.

One of the best signings and contracts in hockey but from 2-6 on 98.5 I hear the same 2-3 people call in and trash him lol
I thought you were smarter than that, to avoid listening to that shit

Zadorov's fine. But he makes a lot of bonehead decisions. Has a few guys open for a breakout pass, decides to ice the puck, takes bad penalties, etc.

I get he's playing out of his ideal spot right now with injuries. I do appreciate his toughness and willingness to stick up for the boys tho.

Good player, bad contract for what he brings and when projecting his age-driven regression. I still don’t understand why this is such a difficult concept to grasp.

There are 72 defensemen with a higher AAV than Zadorov. He's going to get pushed down even further on that list after this summer and the cap is going to go up. He's paid appropriately.

I rarely listen I’m a podcast guy but I’ll flip on here and there but rarely get past 5 minutes

Keefe & Jones were in a deep discussion would you rather come face to face in the wild with a gorilla or lion. That actually kept my attention.

The gorilla is frightening and I’m thinking could pull a limb off while still conscious- the lion I’m thinking kills me with a bite

That’s good talk radio to me

With McAvoy and Lindholm's out, he is with a doubt the best D man on the team to carry the puck out of the zone or from the neutral zone, successfully deep into the O Zone. Lohrei is good short distances carrying the puck.

He's a 5 paid as a high 3? Even if you factor ELC guys...he's not paid appropriately whatsoever.

Oh my god. You have those two backwards, except for even the short distances for Zadorov.

Chara played into his mid 40's so I'm not losing sleep over Zadorov playing until he is
barely 34.

Zadorov is easy to criticize, but let's be honest the guy really stepped up in a big way with all the injuries to this defense, doesn't change what he is but nice to know you have someone like him on your squad.
