Intellectually dishonest but I know you already know that

I had to look up what intellectual dishonest was, never heard that term before. Your essentially questioning my integrity with that comment, which is not appreciated. Have a nice day.

Oh wait- are you just pissed he almost insulted Swayman for his clown show before giving up 4 more goals?

I'm not pissed about anything. I did think that quote to the media was completely unprofessional and unnecessary. If I was his coach, I would of told him so myself. No player who does that is captain material. A leader maintains his composure in front of the cameras and keeps the issue within the walls of the dressing room. Can you picture Bergeron burying his goaltender with a sarcastic comment to the media?

Maybe, just maybe, Zadorov isn't all that well liked in NHL dressing rooms and it's why he's on Team #5 in the past 6 years. "Speaking your mind" doesn't tend to equate to positive results in most workplaces. He certainly hasn't come across like the sharpest knife in the drawer. "Hey buddy".

He’s a +14 on a team that’s minus a million (nobody even within sniffing distance of him), while being an absolute beauty of a physical presence.

I don’t think there’s an argument to be made that he’s been bad. He takes some stupid penalties but that’s really the only thing I can find issue with, and I don’t really care because I know that’s what comes with the territory of having a brute on your team.
Half his penalties are for being bigger and stronger than the player he decks.

Well at least we got to the root of your issue

Facts are facts. Since the fight, those are the stats. I thought that fight was supposed to be some sort of rallying point for the group. I guess not.
I parked my car at the doctor's office today, and as I got out of my car a bird shit on my head.

Those are two facts.

I'm never ever going to go to the doctor's office ever again.

Am I the only one seeing someone being accused of being "Intellectually dishonest" having to look up what it means kind of ironic?
I think so, but I'm not certain.

I think it's possible that you yourself are being intellectually dishonest -- but perhaps only in a philosophical sense. In reality I think you have simply created an existential dichotomy. However, that dichotomy is mutli-faceted. Of course that very statement doesn't make sense, I know. Ironically. I think. Maybe.

I'm hopeful that clears this issue up with some finality.

Looks like Zadorov wasn't the only one who had issues with Swayman's posturing the other night

Listen, I have no issue with Swayman being a bit of a loose cannon.

That said, if every other goalie tried to start a fight after Swayman gave a player a shot or two, Swayman would be in Probert territory for penalty minutes.

Thanks for posting this.

Later this afternoon, after I've managed to uncramp my toes -- which are curled into such a tight vice-like grip I cannot move -- I will take a walk.

Until then I will try not to reflect on some very very silly comments from Swayman (below). It's like one of those nature shows where the birds puff up and preen their feathers in overly dramatic displays designed to attract the attentions of female birds.

Good lord, Jeremy. Please tell me you are embarrassed reading this after the fact..... Please.

“He touched one of my guys, and I think that was something that I’m not going to accept,” Swayman said postgame of challenging Kuemper, with a potential fight snuffed out by the officials on the ice. “And kudos to him. He stepped up. Just got broken up. … I think it just comes down to sticking up for my teammates.

“I don’t care who it is. It’s a guy in black and gold. You’re not going to touch him without getting contested. And I care about every one of these guys like a brother, and that’s just the way I felt. Felt like it was my turn to step up.”

I guess irony can be kind of ironic sometimes.

I am not convinced he actually is a loose cannon, though. It feels affected to me, trying to play a role. Who knows, but I didn't think that whole incident was genuine. I don't want to read more into Zadorov's comments than a guy after an ugly loss not being interested in what probably felt like a meaningless question, but it came off like he wasn't buying the act either.

He's just not focused and it's hurting him and the team. Maybe his contract and ego has him thinking he thinks he needs to do more to lift the club. The game was what 3-2 at that point and then finished with a 7-2 loss? Just stop the puck.

I agree completely.

Skating up to the red line and waiving your stick is one approach. Yes, very smart not to get the automatic penalty for skating over the red line. But let's be serious.

Different circumstances, but this is a case where a goalie actually needs to stand up for his teammate and actually commits. Seriously commits.

That was show the other night. Nothing more.

EDIT: Sorry, I'm trying to find a clip of the Patrick Roy Mike Vernon fight. But all of the YouTube clips are "age restricted" which is so silly.

I listened to Jaffe/Razor Morning Bru yesterday, and they went into goalie fights and noted the last one was in the 2020 season and that the league isn't having it anymore. I guess where Roy came flying in like a maniac could be a situation where the linesmen/refs couldn't stop it, but Swayman's move seemed like pure performance art, like a Ric Flair bit.

But to stick to Zadorov since it's his thread. I don't mind his comment and don't want to make a bigger deal of it than it was. I am not reading/hearing much positive about Swayman's act, so I imagine many on the team felt the same way.

Couldn't agree more. I think Zadorov handled that fine. The Bruins are a losing machine, management has thrown in the towel, Swayman has been the source of a fair amount of drama and not delivered the goods. Frustration is high to begin with, let alone immediately after getting their ass kicked again.

Why should Zadorov, who is no doubt a serious competitor, have to go into an acrobatic PR spin mode to say exactly the right thing and right tone when addressed with something that was at best silly?

It's honestly this simple. I agree 100%.

They picked the toughest guy in that room who actually fights and stands up for teammates what he thought about someone who just wants to act tough. This season of embarrassment from Swayman can't end soon enough.

That is true and the counter to what I said. Zadorov is doubtless frustrated with Swayman. (Most of us are annoyed at his poor goaltending and general inconsistency.) However he could have handled that differently. Might have even appreciated that Swayman tried to get things going if in a foolish way.

Sidenote a few of Zadorov's fights and penalties have been well after the horse has left the barn. Just like what Swayman did. ...
