Get Dach off his wing. He needs the alpha energy of a guy like Slaf.
Suzuki is what he is at this point. He's the perfect 1B center. You give him the tougher matchup and he can log in solid two way minutes behind an more dynamic offensive 1C.
He just does not have the tool to dominate offensively, but in a way, that's a good thing. His playstyle will allow him to have a really long prime. He relies on smarts and skill rather than speed or strength, and I can see him being just as effective in 8 years. That's great news for the Habs, since he's relatively old and the Habs are not out of the woods with their rebuild. The team might not be ready to win until 2028 at this point, so having a guy like Suzuki who can sustain a high level into his thirties as your "veteran presence" will be ideal.
The Habs just need to find an offensive minded first line C to complement him. Maybe Hage, maybe Hagens?
