He just has to play his game. He's had improved play since moving to different lines, he needs some players who are willing to get a little bit involved with him and it's allowed him to slowly feel more comfortable.

Just stay the course and try and play a complete game, the goals will come. Even when they don't, as long as the wins continue and he is not coasting, he is earning his pay.

He had an uncontributed assist in last nights game. If he can screen the goalie a few times a night, there's some gold in that alone. A bodycheck that helps pin a team in, a puck battle that he wins along the boards, a quick pass out of the zone. They all count in the grand scheme of the game.

Hopefully Ritchie will be a beast in playoffs…Wait, I forgot his underwhelming play in Boston last year.

Playoff speed has been way too fast for him in the past and I’ve been one of his bigger supporters the last couple of years . Doesn’t play with any pace. Who knows, a different system could do him wonders. Not sure it’s the system though

You saw his best quality on display with the spezza goal- that dude is impossible to move when he plants himself in front of the goalie. Makes life very difficult for them. I like him on the PP in that role no matter where he is.

Side note I’m glad to see Kase seemingly playing well. I wish him continued health and success. I don’t think anybody in the league has had a tougher stretch than he has the last couple of years

So nice to see you back youngster.... GREAT point....Glad to see you love the vibe with this team, as do I.

I loved the street cop, Pat Burns teams. loved every single player.

Never thought I would see a Maple Leaf team like that ever again...

This current team....I really, really like each and every player...

Ritchie is the odd man out a bit right now, but he is showing, with ball crushing and teeth shattering hits, and man mountain screens, why so many hockey people have given this kid a wide birth..

Pierre Engvall peeps... I think he iks a member here, and he is tired of being underrated... Watch him closely, he has done this once or twice before, but we might be seeing a Zach emerging here...

God help the rest of the NHL if Engvall and Ritchie reach their potential...

I have enjoyed your posts a lot, lately jt....But delivering a teeth shattering, bone shattering career changing hit, a la Brian Glennie, Jake Muzzin, cannot be delivered to full effectiveness, every night, or even every third night...

But if I was Ritchies personal coach, which I would love to be, play your best game, and let the whole five on the other side, know, it can come, when they least expect it..

He came across with two scientific hits... Perfect....

Its not like he has anyone to imitate...Its old time stuff...

As many a sage poster here has said.... This kid, has some stuff, you cannot teach by example...

Neely, Howe, Glennie, Marcel Pronovost, Scott Stevens, Wendel Clark, all those guys could change an environment, both for the players on the ice and for the people all around the world watching..

Gauthier had the goods, but he didn't have the je ne sais quoi.... Few have...

Kid has some mits, some stones, I mean, he didn't even budge when Spezz threw the kitchen sink into that Vaiveian slapper...

You don't think the guys on the bench noticed that..... u betcha they did...

If I was Ritchies personal coach, I would build all his weaknesses, to be strengths and continue to track guys for a game changing open ice hit..

An open ice hit, to me, is still as game important, as three fights and one remarkable Auston Matthews laser shot goal...

I would suggest we get behind Ritchie, sure, urge him to be the best that he can be, but if Keefe, Dubas and Shanahan reach this kid....... Its beast upon beast potential...

Hire Scott Stevens perhaps, take your time, pick your spot. Then your mere presence, Nick, is what this team needs from you.

But we don't want him running around, will bring penalties, and injuries...

He at his best, will be a great white maple leaf shark...cruising around, playing good d, passing well, and IF, the situation presents itself, he will loosen some teeth...

Project in progress still, might not make it, but his standing with no fear in front of the net when spezza took that howitzer impressed me, as much as his two career changing open ice hits.

Damn, we have a team here.
