Speculation: Nick Kypreos: Sidney Crosby and Brad Marchand to Colorado is real.

He’s an idiot but we all know Sid should probably pack a bag and go have fun the last few years. Doubt this gets done on a trade deadline though.

This is something that gets done at the draft, after he’s had a couple of months to really decide where he wants to spend the remainder of his career. Maybe that’s Colorado, maybe he’d like to play for an Original 6 team and have that legacy on his resume as well. Go take some time and decide.

It’s probably coming though. Nick’s just pushing it forward for radio content.

That would be an intensely talented top 6:

Marchand - Mackinnon - Nuke
Lehkonen - Crosby - Necas

If Landeskog returned you could have a 3rd line of:

Drouin - Landeskog - mittlestadt
And the Avs would get both Crosby and Marchand for peanuts, right?

If Crosby watched us get outplayed by his Pens team last night and only win cos Wedgewood helped steal the game then I don't think Crosby cares too much about winning a cup anymore lol we're not a serious team the way we play, he'd be angling for a move to one of the Florida teams or Toronto or Vegas or someone if he still wants to be on a cup contender.

Out of curiosity, what amount of capital would it hypothetically take to get Crosby?

I'm not trying to be an asshole, but between his current talent, leadership, production, and his ties to the penguins a future number one center is where it starts.

Having him and mack on the same team for the next couple seasons pretty much makes you a cup favorite until Sid stops being a point per game player which if he can do it under Sullivan with a team of misfit toys what can he do as a second line center on the avs?

It won't happen since Sid won't be moved but you're kidding yourself if you think Crosby gets that kind of return...

Colorado isn't going to bid against themselves and it is abundantly clear that if Sid were to ever get moved, it would be to one single team.

I didn't take it as an asshole comment, but more trying to get a reasonable idea of what the return might be for Sid if he indeed chose to go the Ray Bourque route and play his final years on a contender of his choice. Even as good as he still is, I wonder what kind of return he should get as opposed to what Dubas might actually trade him for. If Sid chose Colorado, they could definitely put together a good package for Dubas to start his rebuild.

Any assets for Marchand is a win for Boston provided he re-signs as a free agent.

A high asset return? Worth it to Boston whether he returns or not.
