Speculation: Nick Kypreos: Sidney Crosby and Brad Marchand to Colorado is real.

So you're saying that Kypreos is saying that Colorado is player tampering?
It isn't even tampering if the Avs just told Boston and Pitt they were interested and to pass that interest along to the players if the organizations want to.

This seems like a weirdly personal thing and whatever Kypreos did to you I condemn him.

Thank you.... He did nothing, and sometimes that's worse than something!!!!

But if those trades did happen it would be pretty epic lol

That would be an intensely talented top 6:

Marchand - Mackinnon - Nuke
Lehkonen - Crosby - Necas

If Landeskog returned you could have a 3rd line of:

Drouin - Landeskog - mittlestadt

Yet it's probably not going to happen, but if it did, Kyper called it, right?

He pulls this crap all the time, and it's not just with Malkin or Crosby - just as one example, he leaned hard on "Werenski won't negotiate an extension and is going to be traded to Detroit " followed by "Werenski is totally going to leave as a UFA and sign with Detroit" followed then by "Werenski post-extension is totally going to force a trade to Detroit." He gets silly narratives stuck on repeat in his head and can never seem to shake out of them.

Ignoring the fact that sid will retire as a penguin, Colorado doesn't have the capital to afford one, let alone both at the deadline.

I don’t even know why there is so much speculation on this both have said they wanna retire to their respective teams

I think it's pretty clear that Kypreos is saying that Colorado is serious (as in "for real") about acquiring these two but they need both players to waive to make it happen. And of course the part about whether they have the assets to make it happen, or whether Boston/Pittsburgh would consider it.

What he is not saying or implying is that a trade is going to happen, which is almost certainly the case. Or at least not before Friday.

Did anyone actually listen to the clip?
In my case, no. And that's because Kypreos has been such a bullshit-prone clickbait artist that even if he is being misrepresented in the OP I wouldn't bother to click on anything related to him for fear it might encourage him or his employers to keep going. Same way I wouldn't bother to click on an Eklund article.

From a what “motivates” Sid standpoint. Staying in Pittsburgh to get the franchise all time record in points ahead of Mario. He can still move up the all time points ladder and try for over a ppg pace. He did get to play with MacKinnon on a team and will again next February.

Sid knows that the Pens window is passed. Next year is likely Geno’s last. Sid would have one more year. If the Habs can take a step forward by then and be a playoff team, I could see Sid and/or Letang making a run with them.

People still thinking Crosby is getting traded in 2025

He’s an idiot but we all know Sid should probably pack a bag and go have fun the last few years. Doubt this gets done on a trade deadline though.

This is something that gets done at the draft, after he’s had a couple of months to really decide where he wants to spend the remainder of his career. Maybe that’s Colorado, maybe he’d like to play for an Original 6 team and have that legacy on his resume as well. Go take some time and decide.

It’s probably coming though. Nick’s just pushing it forward for radio content.
