He’s relentless with some skill, grit, and gets under opponents skin while being loved by his teammates. Perfect fourth line cup winning vet.
Had a bit of a slow start but had been really good in his role for a while now.

He seemed to take too many penalties at first but has settled down I think.

He's pacing about same number of points in 5 of his last 6 years.
He's a ± 10 goal 25 point guy with lots of physicality, good 2 way and steps up his game in the playoffs.
He's only 31, not old enough to drop off a cliff. Cousins was solid signing.
Cousins has performed very well since being elevated to the 3rd line, I find he is finally feeling comfortable and finding his strides that made him a useful bottom-6 player for the champ Florida Panthers. He would always be called for penalties as he plays with an edge as a pest, but these types are useful for playoff hockey where someone snaps and gives you that powerplay that may tilt a series.
Keep going Cousins, will be interesting to see how the lines are formed when Perron is back.

This has been a pleasant surprise. Not a fan of the few dumb penalties we've seen him take, but so far more good than bad

He’s a completely different player than the first couple months of the year.
Seems much quicker, makes a lot of very smart plays all over the ice.

LTIR doesn’t create any cap space, other than some relief while player is out.
If out for season, then can look for a replacement.
