I get it the chance is high he doesn't stay clean, but no, not until he is..

There is at least some chance he's a positive.
Positive for cocaine yes :D

They could win it all this year and you guys would still be wailing about how selfish he is.
You are too blue eyed.

He is a selfish brick. That's who he is.

He puts cocaine, hooker and alcohol over the team. Not just once but twice and who knows how many times he didn't get caught.

Brilliant player but there's no defending his act.

Those of you who are not forgiving Val, I wonder what’s gonna happen when he scores goals. Will you type his name like we always do when someone scores, or keep saying f*** Nichushkin? :sarcasm:

Seriously though, I for one am a very forgiving person so I’m gonna cheer every time he scores, but this is the last chance for him. If he screws up again, he’s most likely gone

I do think they'll find a way to get rid of him if he does it again.

When he scores, instead of the traditional "NUKE", I'll probably type "NUKE" just to let him know that he's on notice.

I wish I had blue eyes, metaphorically or otherwise. I don’t know—maybe I just don’t take this as seriously. He’s a hockey player. I’m here to be entertained. There’s comedy, there’s tragedy. He does it all.

Another misstep and he’s gone; that is for sure.

I don't really see the point in being too negative. What's going to happen will happen.

We don't have the assets to trade for a player like him to fill his role, even if he just disappeared.

It benefits the team and the player for this to be a positive and fruitful reunion.

Choosing not to live in fear isn't sticking your head in the sand.
Yeah, I actually cannot remember a better top line power forward like Nuke is. Some power forwards are good at a few things but not all. Nuke is is crazy good at all three zones, defending, good in corners, never to give up the play type of energy, constantly beating guys to get the puck position, good at passing, decent IQ and excellent in front of the net and chipping in rebound goals. Excellent when it comes if big goals are needed during the crucial time come playoffs.

Avs have no idea how they are so lucky to have such a great player like Nuke who rose from being on 4th line, then third and now can play on a top line or a second line to help the other center and a winger on that line.

That's gonna be us in the future. It takes a very cutthroat GM to tell your franchise star players to frick off.
I'm not sure any GM can trade a franchise player without the owners approval. So I truly wonder, how much that has affected the history and outcome on these things.

By midpreseason, most every player is dealing with something.
You're welcome. :sarcasm:
Are you referring to Old Elglish 800, aka 8-ball? Cause IDK how you 'slam' the other kind of 8-ball.

BTW, Old English 800 was discontinued in 2021.
There was a month in dry-dock that Old English was a fad in my division. Stuff was god awful but had a high alcohol content for the times. Thought it would last for ever as a cheap drunk option.

Poor design, Nuke has two hands, yeah?
And unfortunately, two nostrils.

This is where I am at for one reason. Stan isn't buying him out, that's a non-starter. Nobody is going to trade for him right now, we'd have to pay through the freaking nose (just got hit by the law of puninteded consequences here)... Maybe we could try to add him as a throw in with Rants at the deadline, but I joke.

What choice do the Avs really have other than to welcome him back and make sure to provide him with all the f***ing support in the world and hope for the best. I mean, he is a world class player after all.

So, while I don't trust him, I'm not going to hate on the dude for being sick and addicted. I'll pity him, but not hate. I'll also be hoping like hell that he's invested in recovery and to that extent, I'll support and yes, even cheer for him. I just won't be buying a jersey or merch of his anytime soon, or trying to convice people to upvote him in the summer. But, I'll allow him the chance for growth. I'm not counting on it. Just allowing for it.

I'm sure Nuke is getting the help he needs. If not . .

We should change this article title, I freak out every time it’s bumped (heh) thinking that he’s BACK in it again
Yeah... I'm with you. I think we should lock the thread after he returns and start a new thread where we take bets on how it takes Nuke to enter Phase 4

Can't wait for the on-ice interview after the hatty in his first game back.

"I love co.. you all!" *skates away*
That's basically what we'll get, if anything.

Remember the last time he was allowed to be questioned was at training camp last year. I believe his response was more or less, that happened in the past and I want to talk about the future. I'm looking forward to helping the team blah, blah, blah...

you know what would be hilarious. A league where guys are required to do drugs to play….but with a twist. They don’t know what drug it will be until just before the game. One game could be blow. The next MDMA. The one after that, PCP. Now I’d pay good money to watch that.
That would be awesome.
