IF they decide to go for it next year the roster construction will be interesting but I’m still not sure they will because of the possibility of the MEM cup in 2 years
If they lose He and Roobroeck in 2027-28 then has to be next year.

Not sure if you guys are aware of this or if there’s been a post of this but was just checking out the different teams stats.

You guys have a -1 goal differential right now despite being a 5th placed team right now with a 27-15 record (holy east is stacked if you guys are 5th)

If you think they’ll be gone and DDD wants to wait that extra year because he thinks he can get the mem cup he could easily trade one or both and get a good haul including a teams first rounder from this year’s draft but If im not mistaken they announced next year’s mem cup host pretty early in the year this year so if its the same thing he can easily come into the year with one plan and pivot

USA will not be booed tarrifs delayed but I really dislike Erie since they stoled the Thunder.
I can see fans jumping on the national bandwagon and booing anyway. The delay of the tariffs doesn't change the fact that Mrs. Musk wants to destroy Canada.

As for Erie stealing our Thunder, it was abandoned by the fans and the City of Niagara Falls long before that happened.

If they lose He and Roobroeck in 2027-28 then has to be next year.
Doubt the corporation stays solvent that long.

That is the perception but not necessarily the case. The IceDogs have 21 losses to date and only 5 were true blowouts. 10 of them were by 2 goals or less and the other 6 were by 3 goals.
I'm not sure the metric should be blowout - it's more related to how many goals given up in a game no matter who won. The Dogs have given up 6 goals three times, and two of each of 7, 8 and 9 goal games. That's 66 goals given up over 9 games. In contrast London has given up 7 gaols twice and 6 goals once.

Interesting stats! However, they would apply moreso to a slightly different topic.

The stats being discussed here are part of a conversation thread that began with a post indicating that the IceDogs despite being at the top the standings have remarkably only scored one more goal then they have conceded… followed by “When we lose, we lose bad ”…followed by “That is the perception but not necessarily the case. The IceDogs have 21 losses to date and only 5 were true blowouts.”

In this conversation, this stat was to dispel the notion we always lose in a blowout. A lot of IceDogs make that comment but it not necessarily accurate, it’s more a generalization based on 5 really bad games

I understood the thread.
Fronts pointed out our goal diff as -1 and our winning record is decent, how's that square
The comment was that we get blown out when we lose - blowout is not a stat, but ok
You said that this is a mis-perception - ok, whatever

The goal diff is sku'd by 9 games - when the dogs give up 6 or more goals they have a goal diff of -34. When they give up 5 or less, 39 games, they are +33.

They have not won a game when giving up 6 or more so you might perceive that they lost in a blowout - by the number of goals in these games. Whatever the reality is the 9 game goal diff stat (-34) would support this 'perception'.

I think this highlights the reliance on Flo and defensive zone breakdowns - if the game gets away from this team they lose.

With a VanVliet type ahead of the next deadline, ideally the RH version, the IceDogs D will likely be fine. More concerning might be centre. Niagara will need more than 18 yr old Czata and a part-time Assadourian.
You can have very good D and high scoring wingers like Brampton, but with Karmiris, MacDonell, and Misa down the middle you’re not contending.
I think Roobroeck plays center next year. I would at the very least give him a good run there.
