I think the lack of trades at the deadline and the minimal trades since the season started are evidence of redemption. Or at least the start of it.

Anybody else agree with me?
I can agree with the start of it. If he goes back to GM that will lose it or if he doesn’t use the import that will lose it. I’m not as huffed about the in game experience stuff. The firing and cutting of staff and low scouts is concerning.

Wasn’t pretty but the Dogs shade North Bay 3 ro 1 before 4,153 fans at the Meridian Centre. Next game tomorrow afternoon at home against Barrie.

Barrie 5 Icedogs 1 two goals by Hennings paced Barrie Roobroeck score tge lone goal for Niagara is 30. Just 2,933 in attendance at the Meridian Centre next game Wednesday in Brantford. I think there has to change Sunday game next season .

Today was a perfect example of what we like to call Contenders vs Pretenders. All afternoon Barrie was one step ahead of where the puck was going. Niagara only had 6 shots well beyond the halfway point in the game. They got some life when they shortened the bench but it wasn't enough.

The elite skill is mostly in place for next season. Better defense and better depth will go a long way next year.

Some of that will happen internally.
Some through the Import Draft.
The rest through trades.

It was pretty obvious which team had 8 NHL Drafted players and which one didn’t. If the IceDogs are serious about becoming contenders and not pretenders next season…success at the import draft is an absolute must.

IceDogs will enter the off season with one NHL drafted player (He); they'll have two after the NHL draft (Czata); then DD needs to add 2 more in the CHL import draft. That will give the IceDog 4 NHL Drafted Players, with more work to be done to get to that OHL championship floor of 7.

The first off-season move the fans need to see is the IceDogs hit on that import draft. No STHs will return if he fails that draft once again in a pivotal year for this franchise! They can't start the season with only 2 NHL Drafted players in an all in year (along with a lack of draft capital).

Coach Ben’s comments sounds like the (not so subtle) prelude to the work ahead for the IceDogs hockey ops, if they have intentions of going all in next season.

IceDogs coach Ben Boudreau tipped his cap to the Colts. “It was a master class on what a premier team in a conference should look like,” Boudreau said. “I mean they had punch, they had power, they had execution, they had smell, they had grit and at the end of the day, we just couldn’t hold the flame to them right from the drop of the puck.”

Hey @Dogs Enthusiast, does this mean Boudreau is a NaySayer, or do you think maybe he's just being realistic?

We would have had a good chance to win if not for all the injuries. We have gone from 3 great lines to 2 great lines. We lost our depth.

We beat them before and we will beat them again before the season is over. No need to panic.

knowescape, an IceDogs "naysayer" in 2025 thinks almost everything we have done in the last 2 years was terrible and we will be lucky to make the playoffs.

I went back a few pages, I don't see where I called you that.

The term was initially dropped by @Countyview on December 14, 2024.

I still like the team. I still watch the games (online). I have never said everything the team did was terrible. I have never said the team would be lucky to make the playoffs this year. My initial estimate was 6th or 7th and I upgraded that to 4th recently, because I'm such an optimist.

My question to you was if Ben Boudreau was allowed to speak honestly about his team's performance, or if that made him a naysayer?
