I'm personally hoping Bruce Boudreau puts together a group to buy this thing.
I think that would be an ideal situation knowing his involvement as an advisor.
I think the term 'advisor' is no more than a banner on the website. Besides if he was truly an advisor do you think he would be advising DD to make all the trades you and other posters have complained are foolish or would he be advising otherwise? No, I doubt there's much if any advising going on even at the player level. Btw, what ever happened to that guy Gretzky?

Now that there is some success on the ice it can result in two things.

- DD stays on as owner and keeps trying.

- DD thinks the value of the team has increased and sells.

I bet it is the first one.
DD recently approached someone in attempt to sell the team but his offer was rejected for a combination of reasons. So that indicates he is actively looking.

If there really is no adviser, or scouts, or interim GM; who takes credit for all the right moves in 2024?

The team has slowly and steadily improved since his advisor status was announced and then when his son was promoted.

I really don't know but I don't think its a coincidence.

That was a good one too. However sticking London with the under-performing Copeland was highly entertaining.

Seems to me, that lately our London trades work out pretty good for the IceDogs.
Somehow I think you are joking on this one.

The IceDogs traded Copeland, a 2nd and a 3rd for Humphrey and Paris.

A few months later Humphrey was put on waivers and no one took him.

So the trade was really Paris for a 2nd and 3rd. Even a casual fan knows Paris is not worth a 2nd and 3rd. Paris is a 19 year old forward who has a career total 13 goals in his OHL career.

Now tell me, do you really think Paris is worth a 2nd and 3rd.

The IceDogs lost this trade.

When we have full lineup with 13 forwards..who sits 🤔

Good question. The IceDogs are deep with fairly good and improving forwards. Given the amount of time missed with injury and illness or suspension most teams experience, that decision may not have to be made often. But the players will ultimately determine the depth chart.

The season isn't over yet. The moves are not all done. I hope at the end of March fans are looking to credit someone rather than blame, but I suspect otherwise. It has been a costly venture getting to where the team is now. Wait until the trade deadline, see where the team stands afterwards. There isn't much separation in the East and a few bad bounces could easily leave Niagara significantly lower.

Really not sure what you’re getting here; you think the IceDogs might sell-off significantly and fall out of a playoff spot? You do understand Cheynowski, Wray, Brauti, Virgilio, Doherty, Arrowsmith were all 2-3 year acquisitions; and a couple of those could have pick value as OA trades?

Allow me to explain. The IceDogs are already in 4th in the Conference and the separation to 7th is only a few games. With me so far?

Higher rated teams, with more pick currency, will load up at the deadline if they are poised to make a run. When that happens, Niagara doesn't have the picks to stay competitive and will slide further. Worse still, they may use the few picks they still have in a lame attempt to compete.

I just envision a different ending to this season than the "faithful few".

From a respected and reliable source, this is would be interesting (and idiotic) but not surprising. Keep in mind Walters is both their agents and Wassilyn is from the Guelph area

LOL. LOL. 😂

Bruce Boudreau advised DDD not to trade Bronson Ride. We see what happened so whether he has advisors, scouts, etc he's going to do what he wants. He has to deal with the consequences of being wrong 90% of the time. The concept of the blind squirrel occasionally finding a nut amounts for the other 10%.

Yes, I think Paris was worth the 2 picks.

The goal was playoffs and a more competitive team next season and the season after that, right? Niagara is better than expected as I see it.
About 85% of prognosticators had the IceDogs out of the playoffs with more than a few inexplicably below the Petes. Should Niagara finish 7th, it has got to be considered a successful season.
