Trouble is you can’t get a return like Tomasino anymore they change the rules He stays this year don’t know about next season.
this is just off the top of my head but if barrie were to dangle Parker Vaughan at the deadline for a year and a half of Kevin He I would have to think both teams agree to that- no? Would make sense to build around Roobroecks DY+1, Czatas DY+2, Brauti OA, Galiyanov 19, Parker Vaughan, Maximus Crete and Braidy Wassilyn’s DY+1 etc. you guys will be good and competitive next year but you need draft picks still and Parker Vaughan as an 18 year old should be a damn good player. Also Barrie would have the option of trading He next year if they wanted to rebuild

I highly doubt Barrie moves Vaughan!

This would be a good trade I just don’t see them moving him this year they’re struggling to sell tickets to begin with (thanks in large part to DDD) I think Kevin being around will help sell more at some point the way he’s been playing this year which If that’s the case they’ll want to keep him even more

I agree with this I think if the IceDogs are on an 85+ point pace at the deadline this year it would have to be a pretty substantial over pay for them to move Kevin this year.

Are you saying that DD is breaking the OHL sanctions against him and still managing the team?
I'm sure the OHL would love to know more about this.
This is a common misconception. DD can manage the team all he wants. He can decide who gets drafted, who gets traded and even who plays and who doesn't. There literally is no restrictions on him in terms of what decisions he can make. He just can't hold the official title of GM and that is it.

What’s the largest change you have seen occur to be a winning team?
The team is winning because of four players - Kevin He, Loshko, Roobroeck and Floris.

Kevin He, Loshko and Roobroeck have 50% of the teams goals this season. Take away these three players and the IceDogs are likley in the bottom half of the standings.

The IceDogs have allowed the second most shots against this season in the entire league. Only the Petes have allowed more shots/game. They are lucky they have Floris who is playing amazing.

Next season OAs Floris and Loshko are gone and if He happens to stay in Winnipeg, this team will be worse next season, not better.

Barrie scored four unanswered goals in period three to beat the Icedogs 7 to 3. Beaudoin and Jelsma
two goals each paced Barrie. Way Roobroeck and Wysaik scored for tgevDogs. Shots 34 28 Barrie . 3 617 watched the game at the Meridian Centre. Next game Sunday afternoon at two at home against Sudbury

Even before the 3rd, Barrie looked the better team. IceDogs 1/7 on the power play, Barrie 2/2. Lots of issues for the coaching staff to go over, better to get it all out in 1 game. Barrie is a top team. Onto the next vs Sudbury.

Interesting!

August 19, 2024
To Niagara: Tristan Bertucci(05), 8th, 14th
To Flint: 07 Artem Frolov, 05 Urban Podrekar, 06 Hayden Reid, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd,

In the 2023 OHL (2007s) Priority draft, IceDogs wasted a 3rd round pick (50th overall) on an undrafted 2006. In doing so, Hayden Reid became the highest redrafted positional player in an OHL Priority draft. The draft day failure was magnified when Reid never even signed, after DDD told Niagara fans…

April 21, 2023 “He’s playing junior B as a 16-year-old. He didn’t get picked in the draft last year,” DeDobbelaer said. “He grew about five inches and he’s had an outstanding year.” DeDobbelaer said Reid has a four-year scholarship to Colgate on the table. “We’ve talked to the family and talked to the boy and they’d like to play in the OHL,” DeDobbelaer said. “He’s a top-nine player right now.”

Apparently, he wanted to play in the OHL, just not with Niagara. Recruitment and drafting BPA issues (not linked to player agent John Walters) is holding this franchise back. Now that Reid is signing, whether he plays well or poorly, does not shed a positive light (re: recruitment or drafting BPA). At the time, those posting on social media were un-impressed with the decision to draft a 2006 so early. A look at just some of the 2007 available immediately after the Hayden Reid selection…

Hey wait, haven't fans here been posting that Niagara is a top team this year? Was last night a glitch game, or the start of a downward spiral? I bet the CHL power rankings waste no time assigning a massive red arrow, lol.

I think you are missing the PBO 3rd 2028* in that trade. Niagara might have 7-3rds now.

To me the East has Tiers:

Tier 1: Barrie Oshawa Brampton Brantford
Tier 2: Kingston Niagara Sudbury
Tier 3: Ottawa North Bay
Tier 4 Peterborough

Conditional OA year for Bertucci. Cross that off. Never going to see it. Do your homework

I probably saw a half dozen articles on that trade, none stating the condition of PBO-3rd. An OA year for Bertucci seems least likely, and Reid signing seems most likely. I’d like to see your homework proving the *3rd-‘28 is based on an OA season for Bertucci.

I’m in the process of having all IceDogs draft picks re-confirmed for 100% accuracy.

Oh, Incomplete! It’s better to finish your homework late than never, I guess; but it should be done before making a statement like, ‘Never going to see it’.

Haha. Again this coming from the biggest fraud on the IceDogs site, who has avoided every question asked of him and generally information regarding the team is inaccurate!

FYI. That is what was confirmed to me on the day of the trade but i’m going to find out if what you are suggesting is accurate.

Does feel like it wouldn’t make much sense for Flint to give up an extra 3rd to Niagara if Bertucci plays as an OA (which I agree won’t happen). Teams receiving the player usually pay the extra pick if they get an extra year of him, not the other way around.

From a Flint’s perspective, a 3rd would be an expensive price tag for an 18 year old 06 re-draft with zero OHL experience (and no USHL success). However, whatever gets confirmed, unfortunately, doesn’t alleviate the IceDogs recruitment issues and draft limitations concerns.
