Based on fan conversations with those in the office (and calculating seats sold prior to single game tickets going on sale to the public), unofficially, it’s quite possible DD lost approximately half of his inherent STH base (approx. 1200-1400 lost STHs) over the last two seasons. You are probably right in suggesting it may never get back to the “Burke Era” numbers, with DD as the owner.

Y’all are just pretend IceDog fans.

All the pessimism is what actually killed the old Board. Some of you drove people away. You will never get everything you want. They will never be perfect enough. Keep on bitchin and I will keep pushing back.

The team is really good now and you need to suspend your greviences and enjoy the ride.

The old Board was not killed by pessimism but by technology. The original owner took on another hobby and left a moderator in charge to keep the thing running. When it required a major software upgrade, the original owner decided against doing it and let the site lapse. The moderator put up a replacement board but lack of interest killed it (there were more posts here daily). Pessimism had nothing to do with either board folding.

I'd love it if that happened. New owner, new branding, and a commitment to a winning team.

Before I get hit with "you're not a true fan", and "the team is really good this year", I have zero faith in DDD running a team to maintain and expand that success. He can't help himself but to try and change things. He has a long established record of failure in owning hockey teams.

So you don’t think the current players and coaching staff working so hard deserve your support?

I have nothing against the players or coaching staff. I supported the team since the start and was a STH since 2012. My dispute is with the ownership and I have only one way to voice my concerns, withholding my wallet.

You may look at this year's team and say "fixed". I am not convinced DDD will let Wes and Ben do their jobs without knee-capping the team at the trade deadline.

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. I'll continue to exert my influence, along with the other STH who left, until the changes become permanent.

Like live action better
I do too. Had prime seats at centre ice since their days at The Jack. Used to treat it as a night out, restaurant before or after the game, beverage during, used to spend a ton on jerseys as well... Can't get that off the internet, I agree.

It’s official. CHL players will be NCAA eligible starting with the 2025-26 season after approval from D-I Council. Unfortunately, IceDog fans should not expect this ruling to be the source of any incoming players to Niagara (as in the case of the London Knights’ OHL 9th Rd Selection; NHL Drafted 2005 Blake Montgomery just signing)

In the previous three drafts, DD did not draft a US born player or take any late round flyer picks (e.g., US- NTDP team members or camp invites).
2024 DRAFT: 2008s
NONE
2023 DRAFT: 2007s
NONE
2022 DRAFT: 2006s
NONE

FYI: 2021 DRAFT: 2005s (GM Joey Burke)
F US Juan Copeland (Signed OHL)
F US Cole Bishop (Attended IDs Training Camp; Released; Signed QMJHL)
D US Zach Shultz NHL Drafted 2023 NYI 6th RD – Current Team: U Wisconsin
D CAN Jax Wismer Current Team: U Vermont
F CAN Giacomo Martino Current Team: Sioux City Musketeers USHL; 25-26 Northeastern Commit

CHL players will be NCAA eligible beginning in 2025-26 after approval from D-I Council

So wait, you're saying DDD disadvantaged the IceDogs and that London through shrewd hockey sense is going to win from this rule change? Shocking 😲!

Reid de-committing and signing with Flint should mean Niagara now has 2028 PBO-3rd

Not absolutely sure he de-committed to Minnesota. Flint upped some money to get him out of Sioux.

Actually, I think ‘Reid put off Minnesota for now’. It is possible Flint offered him more years of ohl education package than years played, that is negotiable up to four years.

1-1 after one IMO goal can’t go in (I think Flores was actually the one who put it in) and it’s NOT a penalty

Second period edit tonight is a example of why i thought Flores should’ve been the OA to go even with the great start terrible goals against for the third game in a row and when he’s playing bad he tries to fight anyone and everyone even goes after his own team verbally as he’s getting yanked

Feel bad for Jeffrey kid doesn’t belong
Yeah the team kind of quit in front of him on the first couple. Tough to judge a goalie when he comes in the middle of a game like that. Will be interesting to see who starts vs Sarnia and Brantford, imagine Flores gets at least 1 maybe both now.
