Buy low on Crouse.
Id go for that. I know the Blue Jackets have been hit hard by injuries and Wadell on record as saying he's looking to add, they have a slew of nice prospects, but I don't think Sweeney would be bold enough to make a deal with a team their competing with for a playoff spot. So its a pretty good possibility their there scouting Utah, but dam, the only players they have that would put the Bruins over the top their not dealing.

I wish they would become sellers, only keeping the 2 goalies, Lohrei, Pasta, Potty, Zacha, Hampus.
Sure lets keep a guy with a broken knee cap and may never be the player he was before the injury but rid ourselves of one of the top dmen in the NHL.

You must be a decade of lottery picks type of fan.

I’ve no issue with big trades, I guess. As for Lindholm, let’s see what he’s like when he comes back.

Today's game will help determine the direction of this team.
I believe they should be in sell- mode. If Brad wants to go and compete for a Cup you move him. He can resign in the summer if he wants. Time for Coyle to move on. Make a decision on Frederick and Brazeau. I would move Korpisalo and bring up DiPietro. Target players like Lawson Crouse- Utah, Trevor Zegras- Ducks, or Dylan Cousins- Buffalo. They need some upgraded talent. I would bring up Lysell and Merkilov as well.

Paraphrasing cause my memory is arse:

“I haven’t had talks with anyone regarding Lysell. But, considering where the team is offensively, and the fact that they have yet to be given a chance, doesn’t that kind of tell you what the organization thinks of them (he added Merkulov into this later as well)?”

So let me get this straight - we're all pining for Lawson Crouse, and want to dump Frederic who actually has better numbers - Crouse with his 8 goals, 4 assists, -11 and 2 fights this year, 1 against a non fighter (Hague). I like Crouse a lot, but can someone tell me how this fan base would be treating Crouse with the year he's having if he was a Bruin??

No doubt they'd be killing him in Boston right now. He was a bargain on his deal when he produces like he did the previous 3 years, he is overpaid when he plays like he has this year

i mean Im a guy who wants to see Frederic re-sign I like what he brings to a team, but if they dont come to an agreement soon, you trade him, but as far as "we're all pining for Lawson Crouse" That's your story tell as you wish.

Would the islanders consider moving Horvat. Love the way he plays! Would be a great fit here. I know the contract is big. Would
Freddy,Coyle, and our 1st be enough. We know Lou loves his vets. I know they lost barzal for awhile.

I think better chance 85 and sunny tomorrow than Olivier traded here but imagination is everything so I’m all in
Davidson loves this guy. I can see him locking him up long-term.

Isle are hot and Lou will add if anything. Quitting isn't in his vocabulary.

Sure you may be right on this. My point was more I have no problem dealing a UFA for another UFA if I think that player might be a person I think can help my team and want to lock up long term.

I don't hate Brazeau, and would be willing to give him another year or two at around 1 million, but I am very unwilling to commit to a contract to him that would result in dead cap space if I have to bury him in the minors. As I consider him a player right on the edge barely holding on to an NHL role . Right now he is pointless in 8 games, and without a goal in 13. If they waived him tomorrow, I'd be only mildly surprised, and really not that upset . And if we want a Lysell or Merk, Brazeau is at the top of the list of guys to waive

Why are the Jackets doing this? Seems like a lousy deal for them.

Well I doubt they are. I didn't post the deal. I was mostly just responding to someone who said we wouldn't trade for him because he was a UFA, and pointing out the player we would be trading in this scenario is also a UFA.

It is possible that there is a team out there that looks at Brazeau and thinks, he could fit on the second line and give us 20 goals. Personally, I think that if any team thinks that they will be sorely disappointed.
