It’s interesting but I think I’d pass for two reasons: (1) Schneider’s defensive numbers are BRUTAL. More than fixing handedness, we need a steady defensive guy for the top-4; and (2) this moves two of our best tradable assets and we don’t get a center back.

I don’t think the value is bad, I just don’t think it makes a ton of sense for us.

That’s why I came here to get the only takes that matter. I appreciate the candor.

I think Schneider’s numbers have a lot of room for improvement - I looked at the advanced stats for every D man who has played over 30 games this season earlier today (there’s 198, I was with my wife in the hospital the past 48 hours lol) and every Ranger aside from Fox has brutal defensive numbers, and Fox’s are barely positive himself. By comparison, Dahlin and Byram’s are both better than Fox this year and Power, Clifton and Samuelsson would be in the Rangers top 5. I think at 23 until next training camp, Schneider still has a lot to offer and fits you guys’ age range well, but still accept your answer. What if it was just Byram/Schneider? What’s the add from NYR?

That's what Power is for. :)

Considering how solid he was coming out of Michigan, I have to put a lot of what we’re seeing is poor coaching. I just hope Ruff can un-Granato him who actively coached passive, soft play. Im not asking him to be Pronger but Haven’t seen enough personally from coaching from a carrot-stick aspect. No benching, no press box. Nothing to suggest the accountability enforced
He wasn’t solid at Michigan. He effing sucked defensively. He was a fourth forward on a juggernaut team. He doesn't like doing the hard part of being a dman which isto engage and clear.
