Where is the report that it was PLD? I heard Turcotte and Kempe name. Before people jump on management, let's wait for the report (unless I missed it).

We have a good culture which is why many likely don't want PLD. That being said, a good culture can mean a bad apple works.

You literally have no idea of JDB worth to other teams nor what the discussion was with LA.
Just to keep us on an even keel. I’m not apologizing for anyone. Just pointing other scenarios that do happen.
I just don't like hearing that we were handcuffed by $57k in cap space. Yeah, were were. But Vegas is like $20m over the cap right now lol. Things can be done. Again, I heard all about "creativity". I guess sending CBJ Zboril and a 3rd is pretty creative though.

I doubt Linus's trade value goes down come draft day unless he totally shits the bed the rest of the way. I doubt it
Not so sure about that. Swayman getting a big Raise and their not paying all that money for two goalies with so many holes to fill. Sweeney imo should of moved him already. He obviously will be able to move him but teams will also realize that there will be a little bit more desperation from Sweeney to do so. So I think his value does go down because teams know Sweeney needs to move him. Just bad asset management.

Perhaps, but hard to find an alternative that makes sense for either Boston or LA. The other guys we might want are too valuable, and LA wouldn't give up . Or not close to valuable enough

LA has lots of young players/prospects/picks. I'm not saying your getting a big package with 3 or 4 of them nor getting the best 1 or 2 pieces. Look at the Guentzel deal. A handful of B-level prospects back. I'd say you'd be looking at a 1st rounder + a young player/prospect who isn't among LA's Top 3-5.

Part of the onus to move Ullmark is cap space. Meanwhile, getting back Dubois you have less cap space (Dubois makes almost double), no guarantee of performance improvement, and almost quadrupling the term commitment. Does Dubois even waive to come here after just extending in LA? I find that extremely doubtful.

I also think they have their eyes set on Lindholm and taking on Dubois's commitment spoils that idea. I also think they like their center ice position a lot more than fans do.

I'd argue Dubois has been outperformed by Coyle, Zacha and Geekie this season. But somehow he was going to come here and supplant them up the middle?

LTIR needs to addressed next CBA no doubt. That said, I won't complain about Vegas because we did the same last year.
Hey we shouldn't be allowed to do it either.

This wasn't the intent of the LTIR exception. They had to make big revisions to AAV and contract lengths after Kovalchuk as it violated the spirit of the rule.

This does too.

Not beating on Vegas for doing it. Beating on the rule for allowing the loopholes.

I'm fine with adding Maroon for playoffs on line 4. He's a proven winner.
Peake as 3RD is an upgrade over shatty.

Saw the game last night, Bruins dominated Leafs. If I wasn't chirping Matthews and Marner,.I wouldn't have even known they were playing.

Bruins are solid folks, got better today without mortgaging their future.

Now the question if the trading Ullmark nixed deals are true, how is Ullmark going to perform the rest of the year knowing they tried to trade him. That should be interesting
He seems by all accounts to be a professional guy. He probably understands the situation and what this team’s needs are.

It doesn’t make sense to have 2 elite goalies. Probably knows one way or another its unlikely he’s here next season. That said, he has every right to decide where he wants to go. I doubt it’ll impact anything. Would just limit his list of destinations.

You can beat on the rule when a team might be 8m over cap or something but Vegas is about to ice a 110m playoff roster while other GMs oddly sacrifice their teams financially to help them out. It stinks frankly and makes them boring to play against.
