All due respect Dom. Don’t see Swayman wanting out of Boston. Sweeney would’ve had to screw up big time. If anything, it would solidify Boston’s commitment to him.

not really. Experience, faceoffs, he’s not as effective as those two imo
Maybe holding onto Ullmark becomes leverage in negotiations with Swayman then.

They deal Ullmark, Swayman sort of has them over a barrel this off-season.

However, if you keep Ullmark in your back pocket and Swayman decides to get silly in his demands, maybe you move him and go w/ Ullmark and Bussi/DiPietro.

Do you believe the rumors of Swayman's contract that is just waiting to be announced?

I do. I think it'll come out today.

Bruins were the team to beat last year- anything can happen once the playoffs start. How many predicted a FLA-VGK Cup final?
For sure but Bruins road has to go through both is betting odds. That's what you are making deals based on if you are Bruins GM..Sit it out be my plan and be glad down the road .

On paper, it's pretty clear that the top 2 teams in each division are the heavyweights in the East: Panthers, Bruins, Rangers, Canes

But if history has taught us anything, it wouldn't be a surprise if one, maybe two of those four go down in Round 1.

Canes are gearing up for a run.

You've got teams like the Flyers and Red Wings who are sort of playing with house money.

The Islanders are coming on strong and will likely pass Tampa/Philadelphia.

This puts the Bruins in a weird spot. This was supposed to be a transition year where we'd have been content with 3rd in the division or a WC spot, and yet here they find themselves, right in the thick of it with the other contenders.

Say it's Boston & Florida in Round 2, is there anything that Boston can do today that moves the needle in that match-up?

Yeah I hope they can do something good for the future today, but if they don't do anything much I am okay with it, too. This was supposed to be a bridge year IIRC

Probably not on paper, but once the playoffs start, you never know. Tkachuk goes down with and injury, the wheels come off Bob's wagon, who knows?

Size, toughness, face offs.

Specifically 4C with those attributes to have Boqvist the 13th forward. Possibly a similar RWer to sit Brazeau although his size is intriguing.

tbh no, not unless something crazy happens with bringing in a top C and a lot of physicality out of nowhere. Besides being really skilled Florida can beat you up and has no problem playing the game of yards or inches.
