NHL trade deadline in two weeks...

So the NHL trade deadline is the week after next, March 7th. We should start to hear things are heating up when NHL hockey returns.

What are people's guesses? What will Adams/Pegula/Buffalo do? How many moves? Sellers or Buyers? I am leaving aside what Adams says he WANTS to do compared to what will actually happen. Greenway and Zucker are two that either move or sign. Without being pessimistic(Yes, its easy), what are people's thoughts?


My guess is Buffalo makes 3 moves and one of Greenway or Zucker gets traded.

My other guess is Adams kicks the can down the road and says most moves he wants to make are off season type moves and not deadline moves.

Thoughts on what will happen?

I can see that. Also expecting something where they move a Rochester player and/or pick(s) to backfill with another piece up front for the end of this season and into next.

Also, I'm just curious why do you always misspell Byram's name?

Buffalo needs 2-3 defensemen next year either at the trade deadline, or off season. Ryan Johnson doesn't seem to be in the cards but maybe next year is different.

This probably wont be addressed at the trade deadline?
 
Hot take: the sabres should be buyers

They need to bring guys in to try and win now, even if it's just for another month. They got a build or show they want to win

Obviously not talking about trading a first but if there is another Zucker or Greenway out there to be had for a third, go get him. Even if the contract is expiring

No and no. Reimer is done. I don't hate either d-man, but in all honesty they're waiver fodder.

I'd love to see Greenway and Zucker back, because each provides something the rest of the roster lacks. Their presence might impede "internal growth" however, so who knows. And our eternal quest to remain the league's youngest team will be enhanced by their absence.

I wouldn’t hate it if the player had at least one year after this.

That would be ideal

But with all the talk of no one wanting to come here, it would almost be like an employer going through an agency to hire someone

A little test period for the employee and the employer

Show the player everything Adams and management sell during the off season is actually real
 
They should dump Cozens. Addition by subtraction, take the best offer.

They need to decide if they can re-sign Byram or not. If not a move may be made with him IF there is a good return.

I'd like to see a VERY good veteran D-man come in, or a good, 2-way 25-27 year old center also. If you can move Cozens or Bryam for that, so be it.

Nothing else really. Anything else might be them reaching.

This is exactly my expectation. Anything additional will be, honestly, stunning. Except maybe an AHLer for AHLer move.

Not long until Adams can do nothing due to league rules instead of doing nothing due to incompetence.

His favorite time of year.

I pray this is his last deadline with this team. It’s beyond the limits of absurdity that he would get another year as we sit in last place.

My brothers we are not getting a 1st for Jason Zucker. I’ve seen this perpetuated in a few places, and while ordinarily I would stand back while Kyvyn is the subject of rage posts, my need for realism persists. A 2nd is about what you should expect. Maybe less. He’s never been on a deep playoff run and his playoff pts/game lags behind his regular season by significant amount. There is no team out there who thinks Zuck is the missing piece for a cup. He’s a secondary scorer that a team like Minnesota or LA might see as providing enough PP value to warrant a 2nd. Otherwise he’ll go to the highest bidder for like a 3rd and a future 6th. Just, be realistic.
