I heard Gus was feeling some illness in the game vs Finland, the game he got pulled after 20.
There was also illness in the team vs USA, that's why Rakell and Zibanejad didn't play.
So hopefully there's no injury to Gus.

Finally we're talking about serious hockey again. Can't wait until saturday.

But Detroit has played like one of the better teams in the league in january/february, I hope they will have one of their bad games vs. our AHL team.

The 4 Nations tournament was awesome. That USA v Canada game trumped (ha) any Wild game in recent memory.

I thought Minnesota was a swing-state 😉Do you know, I can really play the trumpet ;)

I saw parts of two games of that friggin marketing event and I thought it was less intense than any regular season game and far away from playoff hockey.

But maybe thats just my opinion.

So you didn't watch USA vs Canada this past Saturday night?

No. I've watched some parts of finland vs usa & canada and sweden vs finland and it was boring and nowhere close to nhl hockey, not even playoffs.

In fact I've watched CHL final instead (Zürich vs. Färjestad) and that's not some exebition hockey. Sure, no nhl level as well but the game mattered at least, even for the players.

It was so fast I think the players even had problems adjusting to the speed. We are talking about teams that would destroy cup teams. If you can't enjoy that then I don't know what to say.

The Allstar game is marketing, this is so much more.

The USA vs Canada game was better than any playoff game I've seen in the last 15 years in terms of intensity. And I say that as someone who isn't totally thrilled with the timing of this tournament. Both sides hated each other and it showed. A fast and intense game. Seeing McDavid get absolutely ROCKED was the icing on the cake. I've never seen him hit and taken down a few pegs like that in a regular season game. The little whining baby was way overdue.

Unfortunately, I don't know if the championship game will top it. Losing McAvoy means losing a big physical presence. He made the Tkachuks look secondary in the hits department. We got weaker.

Maybe Finland was the problem.

I have no clue how to even respond to this...

Fireworks aside, i thought the Finland v SWE game was even better. All of the games have been much, much better than i thought they'd be. Even the 6-1 game was much closer than the score indicated.

The level of hockey has been quite high- much better than a regular season NHL game. Shouldn't be a surprise- no "shit players".
