What could a realistic package from NYR that wouldn't piss everyone off and doesn't include futures even look like? Like the best realistic scenario? Laf and Schneider?

I'm guessing that's where these rumors started: not that KA was shopping Peterka, but he was willing to give up Peterka for a bigger fish, someone took that to mean "Peterka is available", other teams called on him, and KA basically said "sure if you're trading us your 1C", and that's where things ended.

Peterka isn't untouchable in the right deal, but he's not getting sold for pennies on the dollar either.

My theory is "someone" floated the Rangers rumor because another team (Vancouver for ie) was interested in Peterka and there trying to get that deal done.

Yeah. I can’t stand the guy’s smugness, but I recall two years in a row, he put out “watch out for Players X and Y” on the morning of 7/1 and then we got those guys later that day.

He’s clearly the only actually connected guy locally.
