Rongos looked pretty awful again tonight

Also I know they're over a year old now but their navy third jerseys are the worst of any set in the league IMO. Don't know what exactly it is about them that's so offensive to me but they really really stink

Sounds like Marchand turned down a few offers from Boston. Even a 3 year one where he can retire in Boston.

Im not sure any other team is giving him 3 years at his current cap hit much less a raise.

Man I hope Ovie doesn play games like this when he needs another contract.
Sounds like you’re bullish on him re-signing?

I am bullish on him playing beyond next year. 100% I am.

We have a great team, a great environment, a great coach, and it’s a good place to live.

Ovechkin LOVES to score and to win. This isn’t Crosby slogging along with a shit team.

If we are strong again next year, I’d be really surprised if he hung them up. He will be on the 930-940 range (possibly?) for goals, so he *may* want 2 more years to win another Cup and hit 1000.

We will see

IIIFFF he tops Gretzky and hoists a cup in 25, I could see (and be at peace with) him walking away on top. Would give him another year KHL, and his last game would be amazing. If that doesn’t happen I’m fully confident he plays his last season next year.

OV has a lot of honor. Even if he breaks the record this year, and the Caps win the Cup (and let’s throw in President’s Trophy as well)… he will honor his last year and play with Caps. Why wouldn’t he.

That said, he also wants to play in his home country in the KHL. The only reason he would extend is if he really feels like they can win another Stanley cup. Hoping he signs for the 3Peat year. haha

No. “We” don’t. A few posters do. Which is their right and privilege — even if they are abjectly wrong 😂

I agree. I always optimistically took Ovi's comment about finishing his career in Russia could simply mean a single game.

I have long thought there is a chance he might want to continue year-by-year with the Caps depending on health/injury status and how well the team is doing. Indisputable that he loves winning, so if the CMM, Leonard, Hutson, Cristall, Parascak, (especially) Miroshnichenko, and (especially) Protas and Protas flourish like I expect I'm sure he would love to be in the mix and having his family watch, even if it's in a more limited role.

Wild fantasy... he takes very deep hometown discounts to allow an even better team to be built around him. That depends on how his overall finances are, but I'm sure the Caps would happily pay him handsomely in a post career Ambassador role so he could mentally factor that in, if he at all cares about money at this stage (as I'm sure the CBA would prevent any post-career agreement in writing).

I hope he gets to 1000 goals!!
