Yea I like Boeser a lot, and I would honestly take him as a pure rental -- his extension really scares me.At some points yes. He does not make sense now. He is 31 now and under contract at $8M per through 2030. Let someone else overpay for him.
Boeser would be a much better option at 27 and UFA at season end, but at 6.6M Mangiapane would need to be part of the package along with some good prospects or draft picks. And i don’t think we would do that unless we knew we could resign him. But then what… that puts the squeeze on Leonard and other youth. Probably would mean not resigning Raddysh and playing Leonard on 4th line. Not sure the juice is worth the squeeze but it would be an all in move.
They absolutely do not need to part with Mangiapane to make the deal work though. Vancouver would retain down to $3.3M and I'm sure any trade partner would be taking back Bear as well which clears another ~$1M. Caps already have $3.6M in LTIR pool space left according to PuckPedia
Boeser for Bear + Iorio + 2nd?
