5 points in 18 AHL games Matt Rempe? Six minutes per NHL game Matt Rempe? There's no comparison between the two.

He's awkward white Ryan Reaves. He's John Scott. He's a taller but significantly less effective Zac Rinaldo. Had he the capacity to play smarter and more in control I think he already would have managed it. He's not getting suspended in the AHL so it's not like he's a complete animal. But it's just like he gets to the show and it's all adrenaline-fueled recklessness. It doesn't seem like he's got the capacity to pick his spots. Again, not like he's on the ice much to suggest there's legit substance to his game outside of just running around.
Are they the same player? No, never said that.

And what’s up with the white Reaves comment?! lol…..wtf….

Are 2 big trades not enough of a shake up? Zero heart from the Rangers. Wow. It's not like they've shown much of anything this game, but the lack of intensity is just sad. A very easy game for NJ.
'f***ing compete!'

My heart bleeds for Ranger fans … NOT! Ever since they celebrated their 4-0 playoff beat down of our outmanned but gritty squad by trashing our team and fans as “shit rags” they have been at the top of my most hated list. I hope they don’t win another game all year.

That said, I think they have the talent to come back and make the playoffs and win a series or two.

Back to my original point on Rempke and Wilson. not the same. Like at all.

Wilson drafted in first round 16OA.
Rempke drafted in sixth round 165OA

There was always an offensive expectation for Wilson. Never for Rempke. He should be proud he made it to the NHL.

And we should be proud of Wilson adjusting his game amidst the chaos of some questionable hits (and some really good ones that people just hate because he is a fast, 6’4, 220 lb beast). His goon days are behind him but doesn’t mean he won’t land one when needed.

I think the thing about Rangers fans is that they also have the most unearned superiority complex. A lot of them talk down about the Islanders and the Devils as franchises, yet the Rangers have the same number of cups as the Isles and 1 more than the Devils, while also being around a million years longer. The Caps don’t have a stellar history, but they have the same number of cups since they’ve existed as the Rangers, with the Rangers spotting them like, 34 years before their next one.

Just joking. He's got to be the quickest repeat offender in at least recent history. It's the one thing he couldn't do to avoid being a negative. Now every borderline hit opens up the book being thrown at him. Dangerous ground for his career already. On the one hand there's a definite inexperience angle. 22 regular season games with a handful of minutes isn't much experience on the job. On the other hand at the AHL level at least he managed proper body awareness and decision-making to not go way over the line. The slower pace likely helps and the lack of comparative limelight. But overall it doesn't seem like his approach to being part of a dying breed is very calculated. NYR may have may rushed him a bit but he also seems basically in over his head as to how to operate in that sort of role. Like, he doesn't even honor the code. Total newb and it's hard to believe that level of unrefinement, even in what's admittedly the least refined of roles, ends up equally a significant career. We'll see.

It's never been easier to reach the top of Heavy Mountain these days yet it still requires being a playable, reliable hockey player. That's where right or wrong there was never a question with Wilson. Wilson improved to be sure but he was always an NHL player. With Rempe it's a lot more questionable. From that standpoint a general defense of Tom Wilson The Player was a lot more justified in comparison. With Rempe his defense is inexperience basically and by the book it's immaterial. NYR should think about employing better judgment probably...and that does seem like a theme lately.

I will be absolutely rooting for the Rangers to beat the Devils tonight. I serve my team first. Need the Devils to lose.

Yeah, I think that's just about unavoidable now. He scratches Kreider today and they go out and get waxed. Their room is broken and I doubt they'll quickly be able to trade their way into fixing it. Even if they change it up it's not going to become a strength again for a bit probably. Drury could stick by his man, tank the season and sell off but surely Dolan isn't going that route? Quenneville's been rumored...Messier as GM?

I didn’t realize it was an afternoon game. Haha.

5-0 is pretty embarrassing!

Guess I’ll focus on Caps winning tonight. :)

Haha Sabres beat the Isles 7-1

They had lost 13 in a row and then along come the bumbling, shambolic Islanders.

There are some truly horrendous teams in the Metro and you just have to love it.

For the first time I am truly starting to believe the league has over-expanded. I think you could easily shut down 4 teams and distribute those players among the remaining 28.
