The East is getting interesting, looks like half the teams don't want the Playoffs

- PIT = dunzo and don't care
- BOS = floundering and don't know how to get out (and might score less than last year's anemic Caps)
- NYR = floundering and the core don't care, seems like locker room vibes suck
- FLA = Cup hangover, Bob is bad so far, losing 6 of 7 ain't good (but suspect they'll right the ship before long)
- TOR = w/no AM34 they've found their game (and somehow it's a defensively responsible win gms 3-2 style)
- NJD = hitting their stride with healthy D w/Dougie and LHughes/Pesce back, plus actual NHL goalies again

the glut of .500 teams for WC2 is crazy, 7 teams all within 4 pts of each other for last spot; 88pts could be a Playoff spot

Door is wide open for Caps, who knows, WC1 may be the best position for Playoffs this year w/Metro having the best competition

I’m not a huge Biz fan, but good on him. Sounds like he got his ass kicked though. I can see a part 2 to this story. :)

Can't lie when I saw the "Biz gets into a fight at Scottsdale Restaurant" headline I thought the story was going to be much, much different!

Do we know his directive from Ownership? Maybe he was told to try and build a playoff qualifier immediately?

CONTRACT NOTES
  • 2020-2023: No Movement Clause
  • 2024-25: 15 Team No trade List
  • 2025-26: 12 Team No Trade List

Only gets harder to move him next year….
from what I understand his wife is in training at a hospital in NYC until july 1st 2025. After that date there is more flexibility on her end, and presumably Trouba's.

He might have lost, but he left his mark on at least half of them.

That's what I was thinking. The story makes it sound like it was, at best, 2 vs. 9 cuz the manager was apparently outside with him. Half of the 6 they rounded up look like they took a proper thumpin. BizNasty was never much on my radar. I've listened to the podcast a few times and he's decent in the studio.

If his version of this is what happened, good for him. They clearly had no idea what they were getting into. Seems they thought they were just going to throw a guy a quick beating, turned out the dude was Doug Glatt...

Reminds me of this scene. A bunch of wannabe ruffians happen to meet Burt Young (actor & former Marine & boxer).

The 'Spittin' Chiclets' podcast host urged his X followers to listen to Tuesday's episode, which features former Sportsnet host Jeff Marek and Stanley Cup-winning coach Bruce Boudreau.
Wait, did I miss something?

That Bruce story about the game before the Minnesota Fighting Saints folding in the WHA (and them only playing for their share of the gate), and Omaha Donna servicing a player during pre-game warmups while the rest of the locker room cheers her on might be the most out of pocket hockey story I've ever heard. I suppose any statute of limitations has long since passed, since it was nearly 50 years ago.
