NAK took another useless offensive zone penalty. Don’t miss that.Devils win 4-1.
Malenstyn played 6:55 and NAK 5:45.
They miss Washington already.
I haven't read anything about the situation so I could be 100% wrong, and I'm going by context, but the league "breaking" its own rules for something involving a "mental health" issue suggests there might be some concern about liability.Different. Vegas is wholly free of the cap hit as if it never existed. Caps on the other hand can spend more, but they can't bank anything toward the deadline.
I think this is awful. I'm sorry for what Lehner is dealing with, but there are mechanisms in the CBA for when a player is either too unwell to play or simply doesn't show up. There's precisely zero reasons that those should not have applied in this case.
yea I think the fact that this is going ahead at all means that Lehner is in the wrong and VGK could've terminated the contract (and thus got out of the cap anyways) if they wanted.I haven't read anything about the situation so I could be 100% wrong, and I'm going by context, but the league "breaking" its own rules for something involving a "mental health" issue suggests there might be some concern about liability.
I'd guess it has something to do with his bipolar disorder. Untreated or improperly treated, that condition can really mess with people.Whatever is going on with the Lehner, it is nefarious. Gotta be a wild story buried in there. I’d love to know the actual truth, but we will probably never know.
It’s hard to speculate because we don’t know. but that speculation is as good as any other. I don’t buy the whole gambling debt thing. The thing that makes this interesting is that it is really the same as LTIR but removes any obligation to Lehner. Except his health, which i hope heals, this is a nothing burger for anyone else unless people just want something to bitch about.I'd guess it has something to do with his bipolar disorder. 100% speculation, but that's what I've got.
Again, not the same as LTIR. Vegas can now bank the equivalent of Lehner’s salary in cap space. With LTIR you cannot bank the space. It’s hard to speculate because we don’t know. but that speculation is as good as any other. I don’t buy the whole gambling debt thing.
