Cancel culture is a thing and definitely can be taken way too far at times, but that very lengthy letter from the victim's father is posted at the top of this page and it paints a pretty clear picture of YEARS of ongoing verbal and physical abuse by Miller. This kid is a special kind of asshole and I think the consequences of his oft repeated actions are in this case justified.

I was being sarcastic, apologies for the confusion. The dude deserves to be banished from the league.

Maroon just skated right over E. Kane’s wrist and he is bleeding profusely - ran down the tunnel. Scary stuff.
Yeah that looked awful. Thankfully no malice involved so the mains can't have a nervous breakdown

Nice choke, Rongos. Lane Lambert's got that ship going again.

The Blues losing streak hits 8 games. I'll take one O'Reilly plz.

It is kind of funny how Washington and Pittsburgh have mirrored each other over the past 20 years.
Our playoff series wins are probably a lot different.

We’re a bunch of 1’s and 0’s excluding 2018.

I just read that letter. Before I didn't feel strongly either way but now I do feel the correct call is to ban him from the league, for at least like 5 years.

I'd ban him forever, on the basis that in October he repeatedly sent messages to the victim on social media asking him why he let his parents do the talking for him and couldn't speak for himself. And trying to "make friends" with the victim.

All of which was clearly orchestrated to try and coerce / manipulate the victim for the benefit of himself (Miller). That kind of behaviour just shows that Miller continues to be a total POS. He doesn't deserve an opportunity. There are plenty of decent young people who want to play professional hockey. Why open the door to this lowlife?

I’m never in favor of permanent punishments as a matter of course no matter how bad the act, but he shouldn’t sniff the league until the victim and his family sign off on him being a changed person. Only then should he even be considered to play. Right now it’s clear the family is still hurting and not ok with it.

People high up in the Bruins organization need to be fired for this.

given what little I've read about these people they're more likely to sue the NHL and even the other kid than really reform

Yep - they are clearly so reprehensible that they now see themselves as the victims. F*ck these oxygen thieves.

Starting to think the Devils are for real.

Also I wish Washington could have found a way to get Eichel.

Will have to rely on your or the fancy stats but it seems the Devils have got very good defensive pairings so far this season? And plenty of offence.

I expected them to struggle in goal but it seems the above is preventing less than stellar goaltending from being the problem it's been in years past?

No. Blackwood has been very mediocre, but Vanecek has been more than solid for us. I have no idea what we're going to do if his injury is serious, though. Right now we're back to our fourth string goalie.

Vanacek is injured? Hadn't seen that anywhere and Cap Friendly doesn't show it either?

He took a knee to the head today. Kept playing for about five minutes, then was pulled. We don't know much else, yet.
Tough luck for him. He had a concussion in February too when one of the Penguins ran into him and his head hit the post.

Hope he'll be okay. I liked him when he played for us.

(unlike Samsonov who is a total head case).
Way to keep up with roster moves, TML...

Sammy is doing well stats-wise so far. But he left his last game after 2 periods due to a knee injury so we'll see what happens.

I proposed trading pretty much anything for Eichel. Thought it was a really unique opportunity to buy an insane talent at bargain bin prices. They essentially gave up a 1st + 2nd + Tom Wilson + Lapierre/McMichael for one of the five best centers in the league… this team’s window is completely different if we pulled the trigger on that.

Trade value wise it's a bargain price.

Overall? I don't think Ovechkin and the leadership group respond well to trading Wilson. Kind of curious to see how that Eichel thing plays out. He's a great player and one of the best for sure but the stories about him being basically the GM in Buffalo are... interesting.
