I hadn't looked at the schedule much. I'm actually a little disappointed there aren't more day games like during the playoffs.

do they still have Bowey?

Nope he's an unsigned UFA. I'd be shocked if he gets another chance in the NHL any time soon.

Djoos, on the other hand, should likely stick in Detroit. He has solid numbers and while the size is an issue there's no reason he can't play second pairing minutes on a terrible Detroit team.

Which means we can trade for him at the TDL? :sarcasm:

your fascination with states is amazing. You did the same thing with the NFL completely ignoring facts like “where the players actually were.” The teams will follow league rules or I’m sure there are consequences.

besides the worst team in the nfl season was Baltimore, so maybe it’s Maryland we need to be careful of???

Hey hey hey. You know as well as I do that only comments that support the ‘right’ side of the story, COVID or otherwise, are allowed on these boards.

Oh please. I mean, seriously. Get out with that shit.

if you don’t believe the statistics then ok. But let’s not make it about something other than what is being reported as accurate. If it’s not accurate, it’s not. But anything else is your own agenda

Will pop this here as well:

I hope they've built a buffer between the end of the regular season and the start of the playoffs, because there are going to be a lot of make-up games to schedule across multiple teams this season.

This is the part I don't quite understand about the taxi squad situation – realistically if a single player tested positive, he will have been in such close contact with the rest of the team there's no way they'd have NHLers available because of quarantine and multiple-negative-test rules (as Dallas is seeing now). And that's assuming no-one else is infected.

I believe there is an extra 2 weeks to allow for make-up games. Hopefully that will be more than enough

NBC announced their pairing for their games today.

Basically Albert is replacing Doc. Forslund is #2 team. Walton will call some games.

Noted thorn in the side of Caps fans Mike Milbury will no longer be on NBC Sports (Replaced by Mike Babcock)

Also Kenny Albert was the broadcaster for Caps hockey on HTS before Koken / Beninati :sarcasm:

Hope that means Pierre is just on that pairing and not shuttled off to (seemingly) every freaking national game

It's NBA related but it could affect the NHL.

If the NBA is going to shut down over COVID there is a real risk the NHL could too as these outbreaks continue to happen.

The success of the season will totally be up to the players. Need to stay away from crowds as much as possible when not at the rink.

Seems like NBA players can’t contain themselves (looking at you James Harden) and aren’t being home bodies

totally right. You’re either taking this as serious as you should be and you’re staying away from anyone you can’t with near certainty be sure isn’t infected, or you’re not and you’re risking your teammates and everyone else.

It's so much easier though to work around schedules and postponements when you only play once a week (NFL). It's a little different for the NHL and NBA.
And the NFL still barely managed it. They had games on 4PM on Wednesdays and where teams were using 4th string emergency QBs.
