NHL Quarter Century Team

The fan vote was maybe better... Kopitar, Keith seem a bit non brainer to be in, they won a lot

Kucherov-Vasy missing from both, but at least Hedman is there to explain why Tampa won so much...

Maybe he does not fit, but first glance, maybe a bit of an overcorrection for Toews going on.

Isn't this just another fan vote, only on NHL.com?

Again, Roy really doesn't belong. Fleury's inclusion isn't terrible, but he shouldn't be there over Luongo.

The players in the pic were picked by staff and writers on NHL.com, the team in the OP was voted by fans.

oh I thought the first one was more than a simple fan vote, now I really do not get the difference, both seem presented by SAP, maybe same voting just one classing by group of started to play before X using the same result...

Which would say Kopitar-Keith-Doughty were in the top 25 but in an more competitive age group to make the other list cut

The NHL.com infographic I quoted has an icon on top that says, "Quarter Century Fan Vote". I assumed that meant the site did its own fan poll. Did I misunderstand?

It's pretty confusing, back in february NHL.com presented the team Madluke posted while the fan vote was still underway:

''But why let fans have all the fun? NHL.com staff writers and editors did their own vote. Though the top 25 players, regardless of position, in the Fan Vote will comprise the NHL Quarter-Century Team presented by SAP and be revealed in the spring, we just couldn’t wait.''

Now the fan vote is over and the OP shows the team the fans voted for. Hope that clears it up. :)
