Players should send them 1 cent back to troll them.

If the players had any interest in “revenge trolling,” they’d send back Venmo requests equivalent to 1 hour of their salary for having to read and reply to such stupidity.

“I lost a shitty bet that I made because I have no impulse control and the NHL decided they needed gambling ads before, during, and after the game, so send me $50.”

“I wasted my time reading and responding to this. Here is a bill for one hour of my time: $956.”

Advertising of an addictive activity such as gambling on many NHL telecasts, combined with a movement of society toward Idiocracy -- nobody should be surprised at these types of stories. Whether the fans are serious or trolling they need to get a life and leave players alone.

Btw, I work with people across all generations. There is plenty of dumbassery in all of them.

If a player accidentally or as a joke sends money, could they get in trouble?
Transfer of money over a gambling loss by others.

legalizing online gambling in the US is one of the worst developments period of the last 10 years

Many european countries have had gambling (offline & online) completely legal countrywide for decades now, how did that ruin anything?

Iceland II the hotter crappier version.
I've sardonically said before that whether or not I'm considered Gen X or Millenial seems to be determined by whichever one the person currently yelling at me hates more.
I think technically I'm Millennial, but NZ being culturally 10 years behind the rest of the world would make me culturally Gen X :laugh:

I'm solidly Gen X. I get called a millennial by older people and a boomer by people under 35. Gen Xers are so left out when it comes to the demeaning generations silliness.

We're kind of the lost generation. We got screwed at work by boomers who refused to retire and let go of power, and now that they finally have we're being skipped over for younger hires, being considered/perceived as being "old"

So screw boomers and millenials or gen z or whatever the hell they call themselves. Neither did us any favors.

This is why items need common sense warnings.
There's nothing common about common sense lol.

Unfortunately, it's all the more likely that it's someone trying to scam money through the app to launder it into something illegal. Just the latest take on the Nigerian prince trying to get money to you if you'd only provide banking details.

It's insane how so many men have made gambling their entire personality at this point.
That's nothing new. Just more public-facing now. When it was all/mostly black market, the degenerates were in hiding.
