Closest thing I can think that would qualify for that particular word is players being double shifted, increasing the players' risk of injury?

EDIT: is this always how the IR/cap relief thing starts?

I don’t remember this to start the season before. I think it is attempting to squeeze (or in my opinion circumvent) as much as possible from the cap. At this rate why not 10 fwds and 5 D. That would save $2.5 million that could be used other positions.

Let's just change the league to a 4 on 4 league at evens. Make it easier to get under the cap for everyone... :sarcasm:

Bonus effect is the talent pool getting a bit deeper and AHL games could be more interesting with the NHL rosters at 10 skaters instead of 16. They could use those tiny practice nets and get rid of goalies, there's more cap space!
