Honestly didn’t know where else to post this, its not NHL related but it’s not entirely OT as it is hockey related. Tennessee State announcing it is starting the first HBCU College hockey program to its Athletics department. Absolutely awesome and long overdue.

Is it? There's no chance the Sharks going to the PLOFFS for the next year or two... If I gotta stay on a losing team they're going to pay me more.
 
Looking at the prices teams have received for clearing salary it makes sense why these buyouts happened. Just no market.

It will be interesting next offseason when the cap makes a big jump and how different it will be. EK might be a lot easier to move then if he keeps up his strong play and stays healthy.
