Honestly didn’t know where else to post this, its not NHL related but it’s not entirely OT as it is hockey related. Tennessee State announcing it is starting the first HBCU College hockey program to its Athletics department. Absolutely awesome and long overdue.

Yeah, certainly a situation where if the team had a more talented core of players, Joe Will re signs Timo instead of Grier.

It is a bit concerning that a player of his caliber would rather play somewhere else for less than to sign an extension here.

Predators' Duchene, Jets' Wheeler among players bought out ahead of NHL free agency

Blake Wheeler, Matt Duchene, Kailer Yamamoto and Mike Reilly will become free agents on July 1 after having their contracts bought out.

Looking at the prices teams have received for clearing salary it makes sense why these buyouts happened. Just no market.

It will be interesting next offseason when the cap makes a big jump and how different it will be. EK might be a lot easier to move then if he keeps up his strong play and stays healthy.
