Seems like a lot to give up. Maybe they weren’t optimistic on re-signing Huberneau, but seems like you could find other avenues then giving up a 100 point player given he was definitely on the way out of CGY. Tkachuk does bring a different element with similar production and he is younger, but I don’t like it for FLA. CGY did well, but they should likely sell both guys and embrace the tank. Building around Gaudreau and Huberdeau isn’t really viable, but building around one seems particularly likely to end up in outside the playoff purgatory.

What a bizarre trade

CGY made out like bandits considering Tkachuk openly requested a trade and had no contact but all of the sudden they're back in the the same spot as last year where they have to win immediately or big names might walk

This seems like an overreaction by FLA and I think they just spent a LOT of assets to make their team worse, Tkachuk is really good but they're gonna miss Weegar big time
