Can't wait for Sharks hockey to return someday

VERY excited to have no NBC going forward for NHL TV national rights. NBC never tried to grow the NHL viewing audience outside of core hockey areas, and especially neglected the Sharks (outright criminal when the Sharks were an elite team) and rest of the Pacific Division (And most of the Western Conference). ESPN/ABC and TNT could combine do the same, but I'll take that chance over the known quantity of NBC hating on the Sharks/Pacific. ESPECIALLY when ESPN/TNT are generally a meritocracy when it comes to NBA: When the Warriors sucked, they never got on ESPN/ABC/TNT. Then they became elite and were all over ESPN/ABC/TNT. I'm excited for the possibility of a meritocracy in US national hockey broadcasts all across the board (Especially for the January 1 Winter Classic, the league's singular showcase game), and not just one channel (to be fair, NBCSN in non-covid seasons were more of a meritocracy, but regular season on NBC definitely was not).

NBC never tried to grow their own network either. I mean what other shows did NBCSN even have outside of the odd NASCAR race? I remember OLN & Versus being 90% informercials.

They did add English Premier League, but that's about it in terms of anything of significance.

NBCSN regularly showed sports that normally only had Olympic coverage such as curling, track and field, skiing. The lockdowns really derailed sports, and the networks that covered them.

Team cycling (also Olympic sport) including the Grand Tours (Europe: Giro d'Italia, Tour de France, Vuelta a España) and Tour of California and other races.

America's Cup sailing.

Thoroughbred racing including Triple Crown.

Olympic/WEG events including Dressage, Eventing, etc.

NHL, Turner Sports reach deal for games on TNT, TBS

Live sports is one thing, but I don't remember NBCSN having any shows except for that half-assed PTI wannabe about 10 years ago.

Their cycling coverage is awesome and pretty much all we get in the states.

It's pretty clear Parros plays favorites with certain teams (Vegas, Anaheim, Washington, etc.) and unfairly targets others (us, Toronto, Boston, Pittsburgh) when it comes to disciplinary action. If he isn't fired tomorrow I'd be shocked. NYR is one of those teams that has a lot of pull with Bettman.

I posted this on the main board and waited to see a response but Hahah as often happens when I post I think I killed the thread, where there are no further posts after putting in my one and a half cents :biglaugh:LOL Posted in the "How would you fix DOPs" Thread.
I have been thinking even before this latest example. Would it be overly costly or difficult to hire a modeling (as in computer Models like used in Video games) company to do a quick and dirty model of each occurrence after doing an off season study of hundreds of previous incidents to have a start of a baseline for future decisions. You would probably need at least two camera angles. It would make it possible to refine these studies and evaluations in the future.

P.S. Modeling where a computer guy would mark dots for shoulders elbows wrists knees hips ankles and so forth to at least have other info other than what an ex-player thinks is a good hit with his own prejudices for each team and player.
