NHL moves to a hostage model for viewing for Canadians. Only on SN NOW, no more NHL live for Canada.

Well that sucks seeing as I'm out in New Brunswick so I get bombarded with Ottawa, MTL.,Boston and occasionally philly/NY when the Leafs are blacked out God I hate this league lol

So are Montreal games that are regionally owned by TSN, not be shown on this new Sportsnet Now Premium? Sounds that way. If so, total crock of s***

living South of Nashville I get more hockey watching options than Canadians. Cheaper, too.

Crazy when you think about that.

I think the long range plan for the league is showing.....they don't want Canada other than for our players.

You should be able to get all games from one service for your team. There's too much artificial walls and exclusivity built into the system to inflate prices so they can sell exclusivity deals. Hopefully SN loses a ton of money from this and learns in the future. (not freaking likely, unfortunately)

I didn't go very far in my search, but is it really $66 a month to have SN streaming service? Holy God.

I have a very hard time supporting anything Rogers. I try mostly not to use them in general.

I think I remember a couple times where leaf games were blacked out on Saturday night, and the only way to watch them was to be a cable subscriber. I am living in TOR and I can't see m'Leafs on digital antenna? I suppose I'll find another way...

You would get it from CBC streaming or TV no problem in Toronto.

The People vs. The Greedy. I've stopped giving my money to Cable TV, Bell Canada, live NHL games, Cineplex, live music concerts, expensive hotels, brand new cars, etc., etc., for ethical reasons. There is still plenty to do in life without helping The Greedy get richer. Vote with your wallets and only buy if the price is right!

I think the main gripe is that Sportsnet Now is crap product. Constantly buffering, crashing, sometimes blurry picture, etc.

I can get better with illegal streams, which is ironic because SN has a commercial saying that all of those things happen with illegal streams but I only get those issues with their own product.

I have not used NHL Live so I don't know if it is better, but I imagine it is.
This … 100% this. SN Now is such an utter crap app. Tried it on the PS4 platform, tried it on my google chromecast. Constant buffering, crashing, 1980’s resolution.

The only app it doesn’t seem to do all these things on is my iPad and watching a game on an iPad with some friends over just ain’t it

Well said. Wish more people had this mindset. To many just go along with getting ripped off so these companies keep pushing their boundaries because theyre allowed to do it and people still buy their product.

I've never paid for Bell/Rogers for Phone or internet because they are the scum of the Earth. I would even choose a more expensive service provider just to avoid them. Canadians probably get ripped off the worst in the world for phone and internet pricing. But the government just allows these companies to keep extorting us.

It depends on your specific region. If you are NOT in the Habs region, SN Now Premium will have all the TSN Habs games, because it includes all out of market games.

If you live IN the Habs region, no, they will be blacked out on SN Now Premium and you will need a TSN sub.

This is the same for every single person asking this question. What ever region you are in, those games will be blacked out on SN Now Premium just like they were on NHL Live or TV or whatever it was called.

There are a lot of ways to stream the games for free. I never missed a game that I wanted to see last season.

And now there is a bunch of youtubers streaming games if you can stand their commentary during the game and begging for subs.

Tried watching baseball last night on the tablet with SNNow and it was down for 7 innings.

Can't wait for hockey games to freeze, stutter and delay
