The New Jersey Flaming Zeppelins announce that they have selected Kurt Vonnegut as Official Team Author.

Mr. Vonnegut will bring his trademark bleak humor along with the postmodernist worldview that it is foolish hubris to think we can overcome and bring order to the chaos of our existence, and that our only path forward is to acknowledge and play within that chaos. That seems quite appropriate for the Quackverse. He has also written about numerous calamities befalling humanity, including the end of human civilization as we know it on Earth Prime on multiple occasions, most notably in his novel Cat's Cradle, when all of the water on Earth is instantaneously frozen through chaos and human farce.

Coincidentally, our Dealer's choice pick of Ice-9 is the cause of said apocalyptic event, but in the Quackverse it will enable the F'ing Zeps to have the very best ice in the league, no matter the temperature. Also, just remember that we can instantaneously freeze large bodies of water or entire hockey teams if we need to, but I'm sure that we won't.

To paraphrase Vonnegut's wonderful Slaughterhouse-Five, in the Quakverse, everything will be beautiful and nothing will hurt.

We debated on a number of options for our selection of team vacation spot. In the end we decided on a place with some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen.

For the younger players who want action and the nightlife, there's Honolulu and Maui.

If someone is a nature buff, there's nothing like The Big Island or Kauai, especially the Nā Pali coast.

(Kauai is also a good island if you like seeing chickens)

Or for the older guys who just want to get away for a bit, there's Molokai, with its single hotel, no stoplights, and beautiful sunsets.
