I keep having to do pricey bread runs from Parc. The curse of having a french wife who not only expects there to be fresh baguettes in the house from time to time, but is picky about the goddam baguette. Metropolitan, Le Bus, & La Colombe do not pass muster.

Oh good, actively turning it into straight Visitors Guide to Philadelphia Banter. Perfect.

We could have 200 franchises, and I could be picking 200th, and I still would struggle to narrow down my choices in this category. There are just so many great options. Luckily, I know how to run a draft board.

If you only get one of them, you need someone with at least somewhat prolific output. But you also need a certain quality level. You also need subject matter that can ... let's say "flex." It can mean different things on different #Levels, and more importantly, inspire your imagination while you create something out of nothing (presumably) in deep space. It's pretty hard to satisfy all these requirements. Kurt Vonnegut is one. This is another. Look at this collection of daft masterpieces, none better than the last one, "Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates."

Ice-9, bitch! It's solid at temperatures well in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. It's also a seed crystal, so it instantly transforms ordinary water molecules it comes into contact with into more Ice-9. If I want to, I can instantaneously and irreversibly freeze all of the water in the oceans.

Good luck with your fleet!

Great pick! On brand for both daftness and strange beauty.

I like the place on Atlantic and Evesham, FWIW.

Dude, this is the Philadelphia Visitor's Guide, not the Metro Guide. That's some other thread.

It's good to know about those water ice places though. I just have Rita's & Philly Flavors near me.

Also, anyone know a good gelato place in the city? I've been missing Capo Giro lately.

Why the f*** would you follow the example of the most defective poster on the internet?

To be fair, I think he's following my example at the moment. Though the water ice was a nice touch. I think I recall you being grumpy about that, and if I'm imagining that, I still know you'll hate it on principle.
