We need to do everything we can to save this band’s frontman, bit by bit, from the spite dungeon. I remember burning through this album when I was in elementary school, courtesy of my dad. And this was one of my absolute favorites. You could argue for a few cover song bangers on this album alone, but this selection seems fitting given our Team Musician is David Bowie (the original writer and performer) himself. I heard this version 300 times before I ever heard the original. My love for Bowie is beyond question, and I would choose this version every single time.

The Honolulu Ghibli select as our Team Cover Song: “The Man Who Sold the World” by Nirvana

Love that version, especially the guitar sound he gets and the growl in his voice. Great pick.

"Everything we can to save this band's frontman" but didn't select him for his megaband.

Damnit. Wasn’t my choice but it was one of multiple backups.
This is by far superior to bowies version, which sounds to me like it was recorded under water.

Love that version, especially the guitar sound he gets and the growl in his voice. Great pick.

Cobain was too nervous to play fully acoustic, so he just fed his acoustic guitar through an amp for his Unplugged set. I normally don’t like that sound, but it just works here. One of my favorite moments is at 2:25 when you can hear the feedback. Just one of those subtle imperfections that I can’t not hear now.

Team fry: Smiley Fries. Idk how they were ranked 20th in the pick tipped graphic I showed earlier. These things SLAP. When they were on the menu for the school lunch, we all got excited. Sometimes would ask for double.

Wasn't planning on making this selection so early, but many of you clearly had fries on the mind to kick this phase off.

The Seattle Sockeyes select Mojos, basically a version of the wedge, as our team fry.

We had already laid claim to Voodoo Child (or Voodoo Chile, if that's your bag), so we'll keep the theme going and select All Along the Watchtower, Jimi's Dylan cover, as our team cover song.
