These are generally used in sauces and curries, though they've been used medicinally as well as for other, non food purposes. They contain phorbol esters, which are skin and eye irritants and can cause gastrointestinal distress. Always cook them before you eat them.

I just read up about Jane Birkin a week or so ago. Great pick. Rest in Peace.

We start the day with @Asnito still on the clock, obviously, myself on deck, Chuck Downie on the lido deck, and Starberry on the lido afterdeck. @Rebels57 and @ajgoal can make up their picks whenever they are ready.

I had another terrible dream about being caught in white-trash crossfire - in this case, an argument that started in a liquor store (where I bought a six-pack of Michelob Light) ended with a white-trash guy drunk driving his pickup truck into a crowd outside the liquor store and into the face of his white-trash sister, slamming her (and several others) into and through the facade of the liquor store. I don't know where this sort of thing comes from, but it's very unpleasant.
I really thought I was going to be involved at some point of that dream the way it was trending.

You should think about using that newly acquired flyfishing knowledge again. How did the wife make out with the fly-out excursion?

Can you tell I haven't fished in a while?

She had the time of her life. Definitely missed it quite a bit. She started planning a trip with two of her uncles to some lodge on the BC/Yukon border while we were in the air.

I just keep saying over and over again, “Do whatever you want that doesn’t require buying a boat.”

Not trying to take a side here or anything, but a drift boat is surprisingly affordable and requires much less maintenance than something with an outboard :sarcasm:.

Buying a boat will be the best decision of her life.

I recommend you face north before turning right

Um. If you turn right you're gonna find an ocean. The question is, is it the one you're looking for?

Will you two please stop trying to ruin my plausible deniability here? “Hon, I’m sorry I got confused and ended up in Oregon. You might as well pack the house and join me.”

I'll pick in a bit, and then we'll start the day with @Chuck Downie on the clock, Starberry on deck, CounterStriiker on the lido deck, and GKJ on the lido afterdeck. @Rebels57 and @Asnito can make up their picks at any time.

I love gene mapping, man. I have ever since it was first discovered. I just think it is the key to damned near everything. I have no idea how it works, but it sounds like something extremely important, and we have seen a bunch of positive developments which have come from it, none of which I remember at the moment.

I don't understand anything, but the one thing I don't understand the most is how you fix something once you find the gene problem. If it were me, the first thing I would probably try is shrinking scientists down to gene size and making them a gene-sized submarine (WAY better than that death boat that those Titanic c***s made on the cheap) and send them into bodies with their gene-sized tools to fix shit. That's probably not the first thing that real scientists thought of, but maybe they'll swing around back to it.

I was just going to post that if I see you in Oregon, I’ll let you know you went the wrong way and to turn around. You can stay though if you fancy it. We could use a few more Jojos

It’s basically between NZ, Maine, and Oregon once family obligations are done. When you said that you went from NYC to PDX, I remember nodding silently to myself and thinking about how many times I had that thought when I was living in the Village. Sounds like it worked out well for you!

Been out here 14 years. I loved living in NYC for my 20’s but moving to Oregon was the best decision, at least for me. It’s a shame how Pdx is overrun with mental illness, drugs and crime but seems like that is the norm everywhere these days. I’ve got a nice neighborhood in northeast Pdx and pretty much avoid downtown.

Being a couple hours away from mountains, ocean, high desert, rivers etc is awesome
