If we have to skip @Hollywood Cannon and go to @BernieParent to get this thing operational......it is what it is.

It's ironic in an Alanis Morrissette way that the owners of the Halifax Galleons have had months to craft the perfect picks for their remaining categories, and yet here we are pulling something out of our ... ears.

We did, once upon a time, do some research on this, so we aren't completely caught off guard. We will select, for our Franchise Haunted House, a residence that is pretty famous in its own right. We select the White House.

gettyimages-57354503.jpg

Presidents, first ladies, White House staff members and guests have reported feeling ghostly presences, hearing unexplained noises and even running into actual apparitions—even on the way out of the bathtub, in one particularly famous case.

Ghost sightings of several ex-Presidents have been reported, including Andrew Jackson, Harry S. Truman, and Abraham Lincoln. Lady Mary Todd Lincoln–who believed strongly in the occult, and reportedly held séances in the White House to commune with the spirits of her dead sons–told friends she had heard Jackson stomping and swearing through the halls of the presidential residence. The Rose Room, Jackson’s bedchamber while he was president, is believed by some to be one of the most haunted rooms in the White House. Several occupants of the White House, including Calvin Coolidge's wife Grace and Lady Bird Johnson, have reported seeing the ghost of Abraham Lincoln.

Other ghosts purported to occupy the White House include Abigail Adams (John Adams' wife) and David Burns. Mrs. Adams' ghost, clad in a cap and lace shawl, has reportedly been seen heading towards the East Room, arms outstretched as if carrying laundry. Mr. Burns was famous for having sold the government most of the land on which the city of Washington—including the presidential residence—was built.

We have waited a long time to pass the pick to @Rebels57, @Hollywood Cannon, or whoever else may be up.

I actually thought we had finished the phase and were just waiting for straggler picks. I totally forgot I even still had three picks to make in this round.

Tough couple of days, pup has been sick. She’s anemic and they can’t figure out why. Nothing bad on ultrasound or chest xray, so she’s on antibiotics since it could be an infection of some sort.

All I know is my poor baby is super clingy right now which is how she gets when she doesn’t feel well. I’m just praying it’s not something serious.

Let’s hope for the best, whatever the f*** that might be.

Because automerge is going to f*** me anyway, seriously who is the team owner for the toads? I’m drawing a complete blank.

After seeing Gladiator II yesterday, my choice for Badwill Ambassador became obvious.

Denzel Washington plays a character named Marcus Macrinus, based on a real historical character that helped to sabotage and murder Roman Emperor Caracalla for personal gain. Unlike in the movie, he eventually became Emperor and ruled for 14 months from April of 217 to June of 218. He will sabotage our Quackverse enemies as well.

You can pick again when you have time - you are still missing one from the last round.

@Lord Defect can make his next selection at his earliest defective convenience.

@CanadianFlyer88 and his pet catfish are up to pick. @mja on deck to possibly make his Team Candle pick, with the advice of his candle loving wife. @Striiker on the lido deck with his choccy milk in hand.

How do you expect her to pick just one? That's like asking which of the children is her favorite.

I'll take the cue from unofficial Quackverse official, @Magua, and move this train along.

I'm not a watch guy, but we'll make sure we select one that fits our budget. First thing that catches my eye is the Jacob & Co. Astronomia. It runs a cool CAD $470,000, which I think is about USD $11.

Per the company website:

A world-first both in the boldness of its unprecedented concept and its entirely mechanical construction, the Astronomia has gone beyond impressive horological achievements to becoming an outstanding multidisciplinary engineering accomplishment. The Astronomia Solar Constellations & Planets takes the celestial idea of the Astronomia timepiece and puts it into warp speed. It displays the planets of our Solar System as half spheres of semi-precious stones on a starry blue titanium base that turns counterclockwise every ten minutes. Above, the iconic Astronomia vertical movement rotates clockwise every 10 minutes. In addition to its three arms carrying Jacob & Co. exclusive complications, it also features three colored gems, each perfect spheres exhibiting the exclusive 288-facet Jacob Cut®. On top of the movement is a fiery gem featuring the Jacob Cut® that serves as the representation of the Sun. The Astronomia Solar Planets makes for a beautifully artistic, highly refined and fully mechanical recreation of our solar system.

Man the concert venue pick is rough. A good concert venue cannot make a bad concert good but a good band can make a bad venue good.
It’s hard to differentiate good bands elevating a mediocre venue from a great venue.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bad show here. The tickets were well within reason for going to a show for the sake of going.
I’m not sure if I can rattle off a chuck of shows I’ve seen without pick tipping so without further ado, the Stay Pufts will be selecting for our official Team concert venue The TLA(Theater for the Living Arts) on South Street.

@Captain Dave Poulin how come venue is spelled venue but menu is spelled menu?
