We have done damn near everything, and now is the time to doo-doo-doo, do it again.
A lot of times we hear things like “Oh man, that’s a great category,” or “Oh man, the leadership in management is stellar,” or “Oh man, this is really going well.” I can’t argue with any of that. Another thing we also hear a lot is “Oh man, there are so many good choices for this – we should do another one!” What better place to do that than in the 22nd of these f***ers? Good idea, right?
Here’s the thing, though – I call all twins except for Old Sandwich, so don’t think about picking them. I love twins more than almost anything. I find them adorable and weird and perfect, and not just In a sexual way. Otherwise, just follow the rules as stated. Some of these are going to be pretty f***ing flimsy, but the point is to let people have what they want and not limit it more than is necessary. So let’s go.
THE RATIONAL SHIT
- Actor II – We already have one of these – pick another. As far as who you can and can’t pick goes, here is what we will do. You can’t pick an actor who was already chosen as someone’s Team Actor or as someone’s anything else, but as long as they weren’t explicitly chosen for something they are fair game. Don’t worry about whether one of that actor’s films were chosen.
- Actress II – See above. It’s the same, but with actresses.
- Album II – For this one, you can’t pick an album that was explicitly chosen by someone before, or an album by a band that was chosen by anyone for Team Band I, or an album by anyone explicitly chosen for something else not including Team Band II or anything in this phase. The reason I specify that is that we are going to be choosing a second band (below). Ideally we would do that before we picked a second album, but this is the Seconds Phase and they both belong in here. As usual, we will tell logic to go f*** itself and do it our way.
- Author II – You can’t choose an author who was chosen explicitly by someone before, or an author whose book was chosen for Team Book I. We are picking a second book (below), so you can see how this is going – it’s impossible, so we just have to make the best of it.
- Band/Musician II – You can’t choose a band which was explicitly chosen before for something, or band whose album was chosen for Team Album I. For all of these music-related categories, you can ignore the Build A Band Supplemental Drafts.
- Book II – You can’t choose a book which was explicitly chosen before, or a book whose author was chosen for Team Author I. The good news about these categories is that there aren’t many boxes that we have to check to see who we can pick – but do remember to use the Search tab, also.
- College Course II – This one is much more straightforward – pick another college course the same way you picked the first one, but don’t pick one that someone already picked.
- Movie Franchise II – this is actually misnamed, and I only did that so it would fit in with the rest of the f***ing things. This is actually Team Standalone Film I – in other words, pick a standalone film, not a film franchise. Don’t pick any film whose director was chosen as Team Director, but ignore the Director By Decade Supplemental Draft.
- Music Video II – This is just like the one we just did, but it’s another one. Knock your socks off.
- TV Show II – This one can be either a currently running show or a defunct show – just don’t pick one which has explicitly been chosen before. Don’t worry about whether the actors in them have been chosen – everyone who picked that actor still gets all his work, but you will get this TV show as well.
- TV/Movie Character II – This is an actual nightmare. We have the first Team TV/Movie Character category – don’t pick one of those. We have the Team Movie Franchise – don’t pick a character from one of those (unless it’s from your own). We have the Team TV Show and Team Defunct TV Show – don’t pick a character from one of those (unless it’s from your own). We have Team Actor I and Team Actress I – don’t pick a character played by any of them (unless they are your own). Finally, remember to run a search in the Search tab to make sure he/she/it hasn’t been chosen explicitly by someone before. There may be other things I’m missing which we have to rule on later, but beyond everything else, please do not pick a character played by Bill Murray, I am begging you.
- Videogame II – This is just like the first time we did it, so find another one which hasn’t been chosen yet.
Remember: “Chaos” is not the same thing as “Havoc.” Engage in the former, not the latter. We have a whole ton of stuff left over for future phases, so don’t worry if categories you wanted aren’t in here - I will champion them later with the boss.
For the first round, we will give everyone 12 hours to get revved up again - for all the succeeding rounds, it will be six hours. The daily clock starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 10 p.m., all times Eastern. This is a MONGOOSE DRAFT, which is the same functionally as a snake draft, but isn’t named after the turboc*** of the animal world.
