I’ll be the Del Griffith to your Neal Page.

Did you see up there where Striiker referenced "Planes, Trains and Automobiles"? Since when has the child watched anything that wasn't on Youtube or didn't star Vin Diesel and/or that dunce Sean from Decatur, Alabama?
We start the day in the dire straits of having @Lord Defect's dumb ass on the clock. I just sighed out loud and then immediately farted. @Young Sandwich is on deck, Jojo is on the lido deck, and @BernieParent is on the lido afterdeck. Jojo said that he will be AFK until this afternoon or evening - we have entered that holiday period where people will be hither and yon doing various things and stuff and shit, and we are always patient during these days, so we may as well start with that patience today. If you have trouble being patient, just look to me for an example. I am your captain, and I'm always patient with everything, as you know, but what you don't know is the full extent of the patience it takes to be sitting here typing on this machine and correcting and re-typing every other word because the machine is a f***ing c*** and I am f***ing enraged and about to smash the c***, F***! #Leadership
I remembered recently that I never finished watching "The Pacific," so I watched the whole thing this week. I started it when it first came out, and it just didn't grip me. I wasn't as big a fan of "Band of Brothers" as most people, either. I don't usually talk about that because I haven't watched it in so long that I have forgotten the things that disappointed me - my usual problem - and I can't "defend" my position because of that. Just generally speaking, I didn't think it was up to HBO standards.
"The Pacific" isn't downright terrible, but the aspects of it which don't deal with combat are downright terrible. The casting was just ... I don't know what the hell they were thinking. I love the idea of going with unknowns in principle, but they cobbled together a crew of real hacks, including the turd from "Chicago P.D.," which blows my mind, and not in a good way (and this was before he even got the chance to practice acting in that terrible show). I also thought those parts of the script which deal with those more "mundane" aspects isn't up to snuff, but in the hands of these actors the words really land like lead zeppelins.
Having said that, the combat scenes are incredible. I just need more than that. I also need a new laptop. F***.
Why are Japanese food restaurants so f***ing environment expensive
Based on the title I thought it was a F&F prequelDid you see up there where Striiker referenced "Planes, Trains and Automobiles"? Since when has the child watched anything that wasn't on Youtube or didn't star Vin Diesel and/or that dunce Sean from Decatur, Alabama?
It took two viewings of the pacific for me to enjoy it. I downright hated it the first time I watched it and stopped about episode 3.Did you see up there where Striiker referenced "Planes, Trains and Automobiles"? The biggest problem with The Pacific is that it isn’t Band of Brothers. I know they’re separate things but high expectations and comparisons are inevitable.
Specifically that you go from Band of Brothers, where there’s like a dozen awesome characters that you really care about, to The Pacific, where none of the characters were likable at all.
while we at the Pufts we’re notified, we thought it was just a reciprocaltory quack and not a notificational quack.
We shall be taking for our wildcard pick, Robert E Howard. We gladly welcome the addition of Kull the Conqueror, Conan the Barbarian, and all of his other works and characters.
@Young Sandwich do you know the riddle of steel?

I should probably watch it again because last time I did it right after finishing Band of Brothers, which is the worst possible way to do it.They weren't just unlikeable - they were badly written and acted - they were essentially lame cliches.

But yeah, I remember struggling to get though it because if you’re not even the slightest bit invested in the characters why the hell would you care about the story?
I watched it with olive drab tinted glasses, being a marine, so I could be bumping it up higher than it deserves based on that. Even then, it’s alright at best and does not deserve to be tossed into the watch once every two or so years category that BoB, GK, and deadwood are in.Yep. It was a struggle.

What’s that supposed to mean? You also have to remember that you are very stupid.
Wait until my first Warzone streamThe most gripping and intense war show I’ve ever watched was Cupcake Wars. Haunting stuff.
