- Josh Harding is ready to make his decision by tomorrow afternoon. Two teams have good offers on the table, he likes one offer more than the other and will take it if a better option is not presented.

- Dustin Boyd is a good young center who has received interest from only one team so far. While the offer is good, he would like more options.

- Gilbert Brule is looking for a fresh start with a new club. At only 22 years old, he is still very young and looking for a team that will give him the icetime he needs to show his talent.

- Benoit Pouliot is in the same boat as Brule, looking for a fresh start with a new club and a chance to prove himself.

- Marcel Goc is a very speedy, dependable two way player with some untapped offensive potential. The former 1st round pick is looking for a multi year offer.

- Rob Schremp is available and considering signing with a KHL team, where he feels he may be a better fit overseas. Hes played in over 200 AHL games and will only sign a one way contract with an NHL club who wants to give him a chance and believes in him.

- Brett Festerling is a 23 year old 6-1, 210 lb. two way defenseman with plenty of value to any NHL club.

- Jeff Woywitka is a 25 year old 6-2, 217 lb. former 1st round pick coming off a career season of 18 points in 65 games with limited icetime with St. Louis. Looking for a 2 year deal.

- Ole-Kristian Tollefsen is a 25 year old stay at home blueliner who is now healthy from having major knee problems last season.

***There are also tons of other RFAs who were never signed or qualified who are now UFA.

Don't forget I am now representing Dominic Moore.

No offers yet, if you had sent one to PiTTisIT, sent it back to me although he should tell me if anyone sent a offer so far...

Moore had a great year, a very good 3rd line center who proved he could handle the 2nd line when called upon. A great face off guy and can anchor a PK and make a team harder to play against.

Looking for a long term deal at above average salary.

Manny Malhotra - Signed with Phoenix

Free Agency Makes Strange Bedfellows
avery_neil_fight_260.jpg

The Buffalo Sabres have signed winger Chris Neil to a one year contract worth 1.75 million dollars. Although the organization and its fans have been "at odds" with Chris for the past three seasons, we felt that his veteran presence, physicality and toughness are welcome additions to the franchise. We especially liked his versatility and his ability to fit on almost every line. As for his on ice issues with Adam Mair, we discussed the signing with Mair and came to a consensus that it was best for the team. The two will not cause problems in the locker room. We also interviewed Chris personally during the negotiations and he is just as excited about this next step in his career as we are.

Manny Legace has been signed to a one year deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs worth 1.35million. This is a one way deal which Legace liked. He will come into camp as the backup but with Vesa Toskala coming off surgery Legace is here to push Toskala to be his best. Legace will be given 25-30 games this season unless Toskala struggles or Manny stands on his head.

Leafs are hoping Manny can also mentor young goalies like Pogge and Markstrom

Jermemy Roenick has returned to the Chicago Blackhawks signing a 1 yr / 800k to be our 4th line C. Hawks view his experience as good for our youth and we feel that he will go out holding Lord Stanley's cup. He also could see some time on PP and 3rd line.

With this signing Hawks feel we are set for 09-10 season!

:bolts sign four pack of UFAs
The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forwards Brandon Segal and Mike Blunden, along with goaltender Devan Dubnyk and defenseman Jonathan Sigalet. All players signed two year, two way contracts.

"With the signing of these four players we continue to improve our depth throughout our entire organization. We're happy Brandon decided to re-sign with us as we think he has a future in the NHL. Mike is a big power forward that could still become an NHL player, with continual hard work and dedication, while Dubnyk is a former 1st round pick that will battle Riku Helenius for the top playing spot in Norfolk. Sigalet adds to our depth of defenseman in the AHL, with his signing it probably means someone is being bumped to the ECHL, which in turn would improve our depth there as well. "

Kings sign former top 5 pick

Pouliot_Benoit.jpg

Los Angeles Kings have reach a contract agreement winger former high first round pick Benoit Pouliot. As club policy, the terms were not disclosed.

''We are happy to welcome Benoit in our ranks. He is a player we really liked bak in 2005 and we still see a good potential in him to become a solid contributor in the future. Benoit won't have a spot handle to him, but with hard work combine with his natural skill, he should be able to earn a roster spot and make our team a more competetive one.''

Wow, look what getting no goals and only 5 assists in 18 playoff games get you!
The Ottawa Senators are pleased to announce the signing of Erik Cole to a 3 year deal worth $4,350,000M/season with an NTC.

I'm really happy I signed Samuelsson for 2.75 million per season, that is an absolute steal IMO.

The New York Islanders brought out the cash this afternoon, signing Marian Gaborik and Francois Beauchemin.

Marian will earn $70M over the course of 8 years and will hold a NMC. The contract plays out like this: (10,10,10,10,9,9,6,6 - $8.75 cap hit)

Francois will earn $30M over 6 years.

"We know we likely overpaid, but Marian is one of the best offensive players in the game when healthy, and Francois is a top 3 defenseman will a cup under his belt."

Toronto Maple Leafs

After losing out on a couple free agents the Toronto Maple Leafs are done for F.A 5. While we did not accompish all we set out to do we feel we adressed our main needs which was to replenish the prospect pool with high end talent. We feel we now have our franchise foward in Evander Kane who we drafted 4th overall and have a solid number three defensmen for years to come in John Moore who we drafted 14th overall. We also got the goalie of our futur by acquiring Jacob Markstrom from Florida.

The futur now looks a lot brighter for the Maple Leafs. Our line up going into next season looks like this.

Jason Blake Jason Williams Nicolia Klumiemn
Nicholas Hagman Rich Peverly Taylor Pyatt
Kyle Bozak John Mitchell Lee Stempniak
Eric Godard Christian Hannson Brad May

EX: Mayers, Newbury

Luke Schenn Pavel Kubina
Ian White JEff Finger
Mike Van Ryan Phil Oreskick
Anton Stralmen

Vesa Toskala
Manny Legace

We will give Kane and Moore another year with their respive teams before having them make the jump into the NHL. We hope Kane can become a dominant first line center in this league for years to come, and we feel he has that ability because he goes to the dirty areas on the ice and will drive the net to score a goal which is where you need to be come playoff time. We did not find ourselves a number 2 defensmen for our futur to be on a shutdown line with Schenn with but we still have another year to find ourselves that guy. Moore will become our number 3 defensmen in the futur. We feel we just now need to let the talent of Kane, Moore, Schenn, Bozak, Markstrom have time to develop and believe they can be the core of our future.

Hurricanes add young defenceman

Methot2.jpg

Hurricanes have come to a agreement with not qualified defenceman Marc Methot. A 2 years deal worth 1.8mil$ (900k per).

''Marc had a break out season last year and put up good numbers for a shut down type. We have good hopes his game will continue to get better and also adds a dimension we felt was lacking on the back end.''

Yeah I was right there with you on Gionta, we were only looking to sign a right winger for a two year deal and he wanted more years...also didn't help us that you signed his brother. In the end, we decided we liked Samuelsson more, not only because a much more cap friendly hit, but we liked his size and overall game better than Gionta's.

The Gaborik signing is for about what I expected he'd sign for, if he could stay healthy :isles just picked up a franchise winger. I don't know whose going to play defense on that line with Tavares and Gaborik, but its still a solid signing. ;)
