One thing about the Nuke at $5m is the Avs will have to carry a player to ice a team that costs against the cap for the month. So it isn't a full savings.

The cap situation is pretty horrendous though. Next season, even if we get to say 93m cap it is even worse... Mikko's raise + George's raise/replacement + Drouin again with only about 5m.

Replacing LOC next season too...

Hopefully Nabokov can make an instant impact to offer a cheap solution in goal. And maybe Behrens can make Girard expendable. One could hope anyways
